Blind Guardian - Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill)
Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond (Memories of a Time to Come - Remix)
Blind Guardian - Lost In The Twilight Hall (album version)
Blind Guardian.
In a nutshell, power metal band who mostly bases their songs on fantasy and sci-fi works.
I ****** love them. Got almost all of their albums.

Korpiklaani - Finnish folk metal. This band holds a special place in my heart for getting me into metal in the first place
Týr - Faeroese viking/folk metal
Turisas - Finnish symphonic/folk metal
Rammstein - German industrial metal
Amon Amarth - Swedish death metal

If you're turned off by the bands using different languages, Týr, Turisas, Korpiklaani, and Amon Amarth have plenty of english songs. AA is exclusively english(as far as I can tell), and Korpiklaani have some songs that are english versions, but they do a very good job translating them so they fit into the songs

User avatar #89 to #47 - imadps (01/19/2014) [-]
They're ok, but their was too much yelling in the song I looked up (shadow of moses). Still, I can see why one might like them, it just wasn't in my usual taste.
#90 to #89 - lifeiscrazyism (01/19/2014) [-]
and i can see why someone wouldn't like the band, it all boils down to personal opinion

Gorillaz(in case you have not heard of them)
letzte instanz, German metal with german lyrics and have some of the calmer metal songs i know.
Gogol bordello, Gypsy punk band.
KMFDM, Another german one, this time industrial metal, their songs are some generic crap a handfull however are straight majestic.
Kasabian: british modern rock.

Seeing as most of the obvious choices were taken i thought that i might bring out some other.
