I do believe you're actually mistaken and are referring to the "Order of Nine Angles" who are a Satanic group. The reason they undertake such grueling trials is in order to improve themselves and reach their max potential.

I've read up on satanism and it's retarded.
not the type of satanism that doesn't believe in God but still calls themselves satanic (in which case why would you call yourself a satanist, that's still retarded) but the kind that legitimately worships the devil.

how badly do you have to delude yourself to believe that the devil of another already made religion was actually god the whole time?

To explain this, there are actually multiple Sects of Satanism

The first ones you were referring to are called "LaVeyan Satanists", they are actually Atheistic Satanists and they practice worshiping of the self over a deity, "to become your own god" through self-improvement and growth. They use Satan as a metaphor for the ultimate version of what they want, someone who can look an actual god and reject them in favour of themselves.

The second ones you are thinking of are dubbed many different things, but they are Theistic Satanists, or can also call themselves "Spiritual Satanists", and they believe that Satan is actually the GOOD guy who tried to assist humanity and failed and so was cast out. However, they believe in the same thing that LaVeyan Satanists do in that Satan does not want your worship, but to continue his mission for you, and that mission would be to achieve your absolute potential through self-improvement and growth.

Now, unfortunately, you may never hear of these groups because of a certain other sect called "Devil-Worshipers", and these guys are the ones who believe in the evil, christian version of Satan and so do bad things in order to try and gain favour. These guys give a bad name to all other Satanists everywhere, but luckily they are very few in number and are ostracized from the main group.

And while you're right in that it is stupid to believe in another religions adversary as the real god, part of Satanic belief is that there are actually many gods (who are just super-powered beings), and all the ones you see in the pantheistic religions throughout the centuries are just the same beings under different names. As a result, many Satanists actually believe Satan to be a far more ancient and powerful being who simply fell out of favour with the rise of Monotheistic religion and losing a key battle against other beings. They only use the name "Satan" out of convenience.

I never understood the whole concept of Satan. He was prideful and arrogant, and jealous, and was cast out of Heaven into hell, yes, but than God never killed him. God never destroyed the Devil, he just sent him into Hell so he could literally be a God. And than when I ever talk to people about this they always say 'It leads to judgement day, when God and Angels will fight the Devil.' but that doesn't make any sense. Where do Demons go when they die... Or do they just go out of existence? Isn't there some rule about that somewhere, that no life really 'die'. And than the question is raised if God can't destroy Satn, as in he doesn't have the power, but that makes me wonder what the hell does God have the power to do? Isn't he God, the most powerful being in existence? I always felt like the Bible just said something along the lines of "God didn't like Satan, but he said he could have his own little Hell and be a God there as long as he takes in all the bad people and pokes them with sticks" I'd agree with the ideal more, as it makes more sense. The christians always throw in this idea that God is 100% love and brightness, while everything else is 100% evil. I liked the Roman Gods, because all they did was bone their sisters and spent their free time ******* with humans (or ******* humans) and making big monsters.

According to mormons (maybe other religions too, I don't know, I'm mormon and I wanted to give my two cents worth) God wanted his children to be able to become like him, but to do that they would have to go through a mortal existence and live it perfectly, having all ordinances put in place, and living a completely perfect life. Christ said, and I paraphrase, "Alright, we'll send prophets and give them the ability to know right from wrong for the most part. We'll give them decisions and the ones that choose to follow your commandments will get to return and become like you. They will not be perfect, but I can atone for them so they can repent and become perfect through me, and the glory will be yours." and Satan was like "I have a plan too! Just take away their ability to choose. They won't need to repent if they can't sin. Choose my plan and give me your glory." God chose christs plan, satan convinced one third of Gods children to follow him, none of them received bodies and they are all working to tempt us. Mormons usually say hell as in a refiners fire, spirit prison, a place to repent and become perfect while waiting for ressurection, or Outer Darkness. Outer Darkness is a void that only sons of perdition, people who have walked and talked with God and still defied him, will be sent after judgement day. They arent physically capable of residing in gods presence. God doesn't hate them, it just goes against how the kingdoms of heaven work. Celestial is for the perfect people (repentant, baptized, not crazy hard to get into) and they live in the presence of God, Christ, and Holy Ghost. Terrestrial is for the good people who have not been baptized or other ordinances, but I'm pretty sure they can work their way up. Telestial is for bad people, but if you saw how awesome it is you'd kill yourself to get there. Outer Darkness is a void with disembodied perditious souls completely cut off from the presence of God. Hard to get there, but if your into that...

Fellow mormons, if this is not what youve been taught I want you to know that as Uchtdorf said, our church is run by people and is not perfect. Different people teach different things on these doctrines we don't often talk about, and it is sort of a flaw, but here I was trying to put together what I have heard on average.

Actually, according to the Bible, Satan is not in hell, nor has he been. He was cast onto Earth, where he still is. After he is vanquished at the end of time, he will be imprisoned in hell along with every demon. He doesn't rule hell, he is tortured in it.

To answer all of your questions (Note: These are not the answers of Satanic lore, but each of their respective beliefs)

god never killed him because Satan was to serve the purpose of tempting people, and only at the end of days, when temptation is no longer needed as everyone will be judged, will the battle commence. Demons do not die, they can dissipate, but then reform after a while. No life does die, it all goes to an after-life. One could be "Thee most powerful" without being "all powerful", and power itself only extends to what you consider power to be. While it varies from sect of christianity to sect, Satan doesn't actually 'rule', he suffers along with everyone else. That's because god is supposed to represent that love and brightness.

Now for the Satanic Lore, version...

Satan was actually a rival deity (who was, in fact, under the service of god as god was his superior at the time) who disagreed with his orders on killing all of humanity. Satan provided us with a means to be saved and god found out and fought him, the conflict extended to the whole group with some siding with Satan and others siding with god until Satan lost and him and his group were exiled. Satan and god are actually roughly equal in power, with Satan losing due to an unknown circumstance (which is why god cannot kill him now), and now they're just trying to train till one of them sees an opportunity to exploit. Demons die just like we do, but unlike us Demons have the ability to capture the "soul" (consciousness) of a person and their memories and just put it right back into a new body, but sometimes energies can dissipate and they can just "retire" and flow into another creature or place. Nothing ever dies, not really, it's only a transfer of energy from place to place. I'm not sure who the MOST powerful being is, but I'm sure Satan and god would have to be some of the strongest. There also is no such thing as "good or evil", at least not in ways we can understand.

yeah i went on joyofsatan . org to read up on what they believe, idk how much their beliefs are in agreement with other satanists but it sounds like what you're saying. But they call Satan by the name Lucifer (which is his name from the Christian/Hebrew books) and also force you to believe that 1) The holocaust never happened and 2) that Jesus never existed (they actually refuse to even capatilize his name on the website) which are pretty much facts (unless you are a conspiracy theorist).

So my point is that they're pretty much a religion that's created to be against another religion, which is kinda more proving that the first religion (Christianity) is right than the one that's against it.

Eh, Joy-of-Satan is not very...steady with other Satanic groups. They fall in and out of favour a lot due to their political beliefs, and while many Satanists agree they are a good stepping stone and "base" to gather your beliefs, they aren't something you should total subscribe to.

Well no, Paganism has existed for a very long time, longer than any monotheistic religion to date, Satanism is just a short branch of Paganism that tries to extend back to the old roots. Nor was it made to "be against" another religion. They are just FOR their own beliefs and believe that Satan is actually the good guy, and this clashes with the modern belief.

Joy of Satan is one of the ones I am familiar with. I was fascinated by most of what they had to offer till I got to the part about aliens. Its not entirely out of bounds just diddnt give the same feel that you get from most other Satanic groups. Idk thats just me. I did like the honing of psychic ability and meditation. Im still confused about the part on a Satanic Rosary. Shed any light on it? You seem to know alot more then I do. *Fun fadt* I had a framed picture of Marchosias hung on my wall for many years.

Rosary's WERE first used by Monks, as a matter of fact; mainly used for Divination. You have to remember good sir that Monotheistic religions such as christianity are only a couple thousand years old, and that Pantheistic or "Universal" (focusing upon energies, and the world rather than a single deity. Eastern Areas are rife with these types of beliefs) religions have been around for tens of thousands, going all the way back 50 thousand years to the first civilization. Nearly everything you see in modern religions today was first created and used by religions long before it.

You're right, my chosen nickname on this website makes me unauthorized to explain why there is nothing wrong with the use of turning a cross upside-down to represent anti-christianity.

For example: When you turn the american flag 180 degress, it's supposed to represent the opposite of what America stands for.

When you turn the cross 180 degress, you're representing the opposite of everything Christ stands for. It's really simple. Symbols can mean different things depending on how you use and see them.
Is this logic too complex for you boys and girls?
