this is what you get for wearing human shoes!

I know the feeling. I wear american size 17s and I have issues with ingrown toenails and wide feet. Took me so long to find shoes that fit right but I cant find running shoes without spending a fortune.

All I have to deal with is ingrown nails, as well as high arches. Pretty painful sometimes

It happened 7 years ago, a bit late to do anything
User avatar #5 - whycanticaps (05/27/2015) [-]
Now I'm probably stupid, but how does one tie in the parallel style?
User avatar #6 to #5 - titsmccracken [OP](05/27/2015) [-]
You aren't crossing two strings. You are dragging one lace through all the holes.
User avatar #27 to #6 - liesbetold (05/27/2015) [-]
You won't get it tight if you do that. frizzyo's way is alot better.
User avatar #8 to #6 - whycanticaps (05/27/2015) [-]
well **** I am stupid. Thanks for that haha

The blue one is cute and all, but since its not symetrical it wouldve been really useful if they told you which foot it was for.
User avatar #2 to #1 - darknesincontrol (05/26/2015) [-]
im guessing left foot
User avatar #3 to #1 - davidteninch (05/26/2015) [-]
I'm assuming your big toe is on the opposite side of the string, since the phrase says "get the shoe off your toe"
User avatar #17 - kibbleking (05/27/2015) [-]
What do I do about having paddle-like flat feet?
User avatar #24 to #17 - confusedasian (05/27/2015) [-]
Isn't that a wide forefoot? Or is a forefoot something else?
User avatar #28 to #17 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
know the feels, I have size 13 flat feet, its murder trying to find good shoes that fit reasonably well.
User avatar #59 to #28 - kibbleking (05/27/2015) [-]
I'm size 14-wide.
User avatar #60 to #59 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
Just remember that big feet mean bigger ass kickings.
User avatar #34 to #28 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
try flat bottom op skate shoes theyre cheap and they wear in easily and form to your foot
User avatar #42 to #34 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
Hmm true, though only skate shoes here are usually the vastly overpriced skateboard brand type, not really my thing, boots are the usual order for me.
User avatar #43 to #42 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
these ops are like 20 bucks at walmart
User avatar #44 to #43 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
I live in Australia, no walmart here
User avatar #45 to #44 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
wear armored boots that should protect your feet from all those nasty little creatures
User avatar #49 to #45 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
I wear steel toed boots, they're usually pretty roomy and make short work of any offending corners, table legs, etc.
User avatar #50 to #49 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
my redbones have hard plastic toes so i dont cut my toes off if i drop a car on them and so i dont hurt my foot if i kick ur gran in the vag m800
User avatar #51 to #50 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
A car? That's all?
User avatar #52 to #51 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
well my car just happens to be a truck and it just so happens that it weights about a ton and a half
User avatar #54 to #52 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
Had my toes run over by a truck, no steel caps. Thank my flat-assed feet I didn't break anything.
User avatar #55 to #54 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
i had my foot run through a atvs chain over the rear sprocket and jammed my leg up on top of the tire good thing it was one link loose
User avatar #56 to #55 - silentark (05/27/2015) [-]
Ouch, chains hurt near sprockets, got my finger caught in a motorbike chain while trying to adjust it, dickhead on the bike revved it while still in gear, still have a scar through my thumb from that.
User avatar #57 to #56 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
one of the bones in my foot stick up slightly after that but weird thing is somehow it managed to gash my leg open from my ankle to my knee

Too me minimalist shoes are the most comfortable, but most of them look funny. The less support a shoe has the more I like it. I prefer feeling as close to barefoot as possible.
User avatar #33 to #31 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
i never wear shoes unless im going somewhere important
User avatar #35 to #33 - Garblestickleshlop (05/27/2015) [-]
Unless I am going to be in public, I don't wear shoes. When I do wear shoes it's almost always something with a very thin bottom like Converse or smaller.
#37 to #35 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
when i say form to your foot i mean it
User avatar #39 to #35 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
and i never tie them either i tied them once just loose enough to slip them on and off and left it like that the whole 3 years ive had these
User avatar #40 to #39 - Garblestickleshlop (05/27/2015) [-]
Yeah, I just have my shoes knotted and tuck the rest under the tongue. I might tie them 5 times a year.
User avatar #41 to #40 - sonicsyndicate (05/27/2015) [-]
i also have some redbone waterproof boots that are so comfy and light that i worked for a year as a carpenter and never had a single uncomfortable moment
User avatar #48 to #31 - reaperriley ONLINE (05/27/2015) [-]
I remember reading that lacking shoes with support lead to a lot of people in the 50s and **** to have foot issues as they got older. But then again we are compared low support shoes of the 50s and such to now.
User avatar #53 to #48 - Garblestickleshlop (05/27/2015) [-]
No it's the opposite actually. Unless you have some kind of deformity, shoes with a lot of support can cause damage. Your natural foot shape is that way for a reason. Shoes with arch support raises the heal higher than the toes which causes damage to the Achilles heel, toes muscles, and foot muscles. The closer to your natural foot shape is normally best unless you have some kind of extreme like huge arches or none at all.

I never really feel like I can tie my shoes tight enough. Anyone got tips?
User avatar #12 to #11 - frizzyo (05/27/2015) [-]
Depends on what part feels loose. If the whole thing is loose you're simply not pulling hard enough, or not tightening each lace all the way up.
User avatar #29 to #12 - watermelonkittie ONLINE (05/27/2015) [-]
The sole and everything is great, but I never feel like the top part of the shoe, the fabric, is tight enough. I ripped a lot of laces while tying my shoes
User avatar #62 to #29 - frizzyo (05/27/2015) [-]
And you're sure you pull each section of the lace tight from the bottom to the top?
User avatar #63 to #62 - watermelonkittie ONLINE (05/27/2015) [-]
Did that at first, but then I was told by various people that I shouldnt do that. Because that puts tension on the fabric which makes it rip. And a lot of my shoes got rips ******* everywhere.
But even when I did that, at some point the shoes just started to feel loose at some point
#16 to #11 - wickedninjaking (05/27/2015) [-]
Get a half size smaller and lace it loose.
