HOW TO GET HALO: ONLINE. So you've heard about Microsofts latest gimmick, Halo: Online, yes? Well, for those of you who are just joining us, it is a Free-to-pla

So you've heard about Microsofts latest gimmick, Halo: Online, yes? Well, for those of you who are just joining us, it is a Free-to-play PC-Exclusive Halo Multiplayer game based on a heavily modified version of the Halo 3 engine, and is currently only available for beta in Russia. Of course, people in other countries didn't want to have to wait ages and ages for MS to take their sweet time bringing it to other locales (if they even had any intention of bringing it out of Russia in the first place) and so a team of modders developed the "El-Dewrito" launcher on a modified version of the early-stage game. There were a few issues with copyright, but as of now everything has been resolved and the companies involved with the creation of Halo: Online have no real issue with this launcher. It IS free to play, after all, and the amount of publicity this mod is getting will only help their profits in the future. If you install everything correctly, you will be able to play a simple version of Halo: Online multiplayer on various maps, several of which are returning classics, and other brand new ones. There is no XP or reward system in place for this version, meaning you have the base MJOLNIR armor set, and access to whatever weapons are the map default loadout and whatever you find laying around while playing. That said, it is pure classic Halo Multiplayer.

Then, to play online and not just on LAN, download OracleNet and follow the instructions: www.reddit.com/r/HaloOnline/comments/32z5bk/releaseoraclenet_client_12_available_new_servers/

With your El-Dewrito fully updated and ready to go, simply turn on OracleNet and connect to either their American or European server, then launch Halo: Online via the Dewrito launcher!

considering it works just fine for me, you must have done something wrong.

Download the game files,
Download el-dewrito
Copy the el-dewrito files to the Halo folder, making sure to combine and overwrite everything.
Run the el-dewrito updater.
Ignore what it says about launching via the eldorado.exe, run the updater again.
The updater should be a custom launcher now.
Go to settings on the launcher and set your name.
Download OracleNet.
Run Oraclenet, let it open up the ports it needs to, then select the server locale by typing either 1 or 2 in to the OracleNet cmd window and hitting enter.
With OracleNet running and connected, go back to the el-dewrito launcher.
Launch the game via the launcher.
Scroll using the arrow keys to Multiplayer, press the A key to select or the B key to go back, like a controller.
Select Online and Find game, if there are no servers it's because nobody is currently hosting a server, try hosting one of your own and wait a few minutes, people will probably start joining.

If you followed all those steps exactly, it will be working. If it's not, then there is something wrong on your end.

oracle is just a much more simple to use one. It's more straight forward but doesnt have chat clients or anything.

One question. Is downloading the files for this game in any way illegal? I know the game is f2p, but on my university's wifi, they are very strict with pirated downloads
