I just laugh and carry on because even if I was of age, I hate my coworkers and refuse to mingle more than necessary.

The US. 21 is the legal drinking age.

People say it's to protect brain development which doesn't taper off until 25.

Or at least that's what I was told.

im sure the 1% that dont drink before 21 are so much smarter than everyone else

Like I said, it's what they told me in school.

Personally, I don't care for drinking anyway so it doesn't matter if it's 18 or 21 to me.

How age dating works.

Older lovers age divided by two, then add 7.

So, 21 / 2 = 10.5 + 7 = 17.5

Half a year from legal but, she meats the requirements.

You have to be older than 18 to drink alcohol in America?
User avatar #53 to #28 - abesimpson (06/19/2014) [-]
I think that's why american kids idolize booze so much and we see all these movies where they have house parties and everyone going ape ***** over a keg of beer because its a pain in the ass to get some.

The most forbidden fruit is often the sweetest.

Yeah, here, everyone can drink and nobody gives a **** about it. If you ask some teen if he wants a beer he'd just be indifferent. It's just another drink here.

In Canada it's either 15 or 16 depending on the province.

Drink laws also change depending on the province. 18 in 3 of them and the rest are 19.
Underage drinking under parental supervision is permitted, with some restrictions, on one's own property in ontario and new brunswick. in BC only children of the supervising parents, not any other minors such as guests, are allowed underage drinking
User avatar #64 to #42 - subaqueousreach (06/19/2014) [-]
There is nowhere in Canada where it is legal to drink at the age of 15 or 16.

British Columbia - 19
Alberta - 18
Saskatchewan - 19
Manitoba - 18
Ontario - 19
Quebec - 18
Nova Scotia - 19
New Brunswick - 19
Newfoundland - 19 (no one gives a **** about Labrador)
Yukon - 19
Northwest Territories - 19
Nunavut - 19

Under parental supervision in the home depends on how much they're drinking. If you're kids having a party and you let a bunch of 15 year olds drink that's against the law. If you let your kid have one beer or a glass of wine on special occasions no ones really going to care.
User avatar #66 to #64 - AceofHearts ONLINE (06/19/2014) [-]

that's not how freedom works.
Its not the fact if you want to do something, its the fact that you CAN or CANNOT.
Like freedom of speech. If I wanted to I could dress as an SS officer and stand in front of Jewish American society and yell "All Jews are soulless thieves who prosper by destroying the white race!"
I'm not ever going to do it, because I don't want to. But I could.
If they made it illegal it would mean they are reducing my freedom, it doesn't matter if I want to practice it or not.

We can also get laid at 16, and in some states there's exceptions. For example in Conneticut it is recognized that individuals as young as 13 can consent to sexual intercourse as long as their partner is within 3 years their elder.
