I have not even watched a single episode or read a single page from the book Is the show really that great, or is it over hyped by lonely guys in their mid 20's

it's alright, watched 3 and a half seasons and stopped, might come back to it someday but i don't have that must see feeling, definitely a bit overhyped but if you like the genre you will probably like it

I like it because the show goes in another direction wich means more GoT and kinda a parallel universe.

And the show is atleast an 9/10 not perfect but really good imo, so i would give it a try

Watch it , it is good. First couple seasons kinda ok but it really gets good. Season 6 was amazeballs.

tried reading the books and just couldn't get into them. That by no means means they're bad books I'm just strangely picky.

I'll read it but I doubt I'll like it. George has amazing world building but his story progression is terrible. Especially in book 4, so much of brianne doing absolutely nothing.
