Halo: Legends. It's a collection of 3D animation and anime-style(ish) animations all revolving around Halo related things. (That's not actually Master Chef in the gif, though. Just another spartan.) The whole thing itself is one big movie with different story lines and what not. I'd recommend it.

Halo 2 multiplayer will always be my favorite. Too many memories of eating mini pizza and put more sugar in cool aid than a whole class of 12 year olds could handle with my four best friends. Then watching some Red v.s. Blue until we all crashed. Best years of my life.

I loved Halo 4 multiplayer even though sometimes people seem to insta kill me with the same gun i shot them 4 times with. I dont understand why so many people despise it just because its not bungie anymore.
Bungie first implemented the "cod style elements" with reach, they also locked most people out of most playlists unless they had all the maps in halo 3, they also **** on the canon of their books which they sold as canon. 343 gets tonnes more hate despite not doing as many ****** things as bungie did. I love the halo franchise, i dont have to love the developers.

If the haters had their way we would be playing BR's on the same map with no vehicles or anything else for all eternity.

I'm not like most haters because I've actually got a list of carefully thought-out problems with the game.

1) Map flow. In Halo 3 the map flow was important. The game was all about controlling the power weapons and taking advantage of what little you had at your disposal to win. E.G: Guardian was a small map with only a few power weapons but because of that it flowed fantastically.

Halo 4 doesn't have that and that was one of the most fundamental aspects of the Halo 3 experience and something I disliked in Halo Reach as well. Not only are the power-weapons uncontrollable as they are awarded to people specifically, but the people also spawn kitted out with their preferred gear rather than the typical AR + 2 grenades setup that made Halo 3 so good. With all the mid-long range spawn weapons controlling the map is no longer a factor because you can stay at long-range and continuously churn out kills right from the spawn.

Sandtrap would never have worked in Halo 4 because it is so wide and open it would just be populated with people cross-mapping with spawn weapons. Because of this the maps need to be built differently. They need to have much more cover which is really noticeable in the large maps where moving in the open is tantamount to suicide.

The instant spawning also screws up map control because whilst you're picking people off on one part of the map they're already spawing again on the other side and getting ready to shoot you in the back of the head.

Sprint has also made the maps considerably bigger (a problem seen in Halo Reach as well) leading to a LOT more down-time between kills. Or it would have done if it were in Reach, however because of the spawning, people come back so quickly you rarely have any time between spawning and killing and dying, meaning there it's all flow and no ebb.

Halo 4 has made improvements but it has failed in a number of ways to capture what made Halo 3 one of the best games ever released. There are many more complaints too.

I agree, while it was no Reach, 343 did do a good job, only reason I've stopped playing is I reached SR130 and not having as much fun since I no longer have something to work for. Halo Reach will always be my favorite Halo multiplayer, but 4 did a great job adding in new things that shook up the game.
User avatar #46 to #15 - JonnyFirecrackr (10/03/2013) [-]
did you ever play halo 2? first game i ever played on xbox live, that was back when it was fun even if you were horrible at the game. now i have difficulty enjoying FPSs unless im good at them which unfortunately limits me to Infinity Ward CoD games. Other than WAW, im not very good at nor do i enjoy Treyarch multiplayer
User avatar #47 to #46 - JonnyFirecrackr (10/03/2013) [-]
kinda strayed from the point, what i meant to say was that Halo 2 holds a special place in my heart because it was fun for me no matter what
User avatar #69 to #47 - tatsuichiyo (10/04/2013) [-]
I never played it online, so I don't count it for online, but some of my fondest memories are playing ShottySwords on Blackout with friends. Or whatever the the name was for the map in 2.
User avatar #74 to #69 - JonnyFirecrackr (10/04/2013) [-]
its unfortunate you never got the chance to play Halo 2 online, i remember my first game was on Beaver Creek and i was just in awe at how full the map was of players compared to the only thing i knew which was 4 player split screen. Then came along the super jumps which were pretty damn fun to do if you had a snipe and the modders which were also fun if you joined a custom game.
#73 to #13 - bronybox (10/04/2013) [-]
It's not that it's no longer Bungie, it's that the game is no longer what made it enjoyable, such as Map Flow like snowshark said. The last thing you said makes absolutely no sense and makes you sound like a retard. Playing with BR's on the same map with no vehicles? What the **** are you talking about?

The massive variety of weapons brought in by Halo 3 was one of its biggest selling points. I love getting the spike grenades, contesting the Gravity Hammer/ Sword/ Rockets/ Shotgun, whatever weapon it was! And with Halo 3, we even had equipment, which provided even more amazing variety.

Halo Reach allowed you to start with all that, equipment, weapons, whatever, they were no longer objectives, just map commodities.

Map variety was also ALWAYS important in Halo. Every single game had a huge variety of maps, each with their own forms of flow, choke points, weapon spawns, and even fun/tactical mechanics and construction. I loved Sand Trap for the introduction of the Elephant and riding around on Chopper, I loved Guardian for its small, split-second map elements, I loved Zanzibar for it's interesting layout, ETC. Halo CE had 19 maps, Halo 2 had 23 maps, Halo 3 had 26.

Reach and Halo 4 did not fail in providing fun map mechanics, but they were no longer flow-based, there were no longer weapon/vehicle/equipment objectives.

No vehicles? Are you kidding me? That was DEFINITELY one of THE GREATEST things in Halo. Call of Duty never had vehicles, vehicles in Halo were interesting, they were unique, they served their purpose, they made the game fun and enticing. The LAST THING we want is to get rid of them.

Halo 4 and Reach simply had too many maps/games that were over-dependent on vehicles for mobility/victory.
User avatar #33 to #13 - kyrozor (10/03/2013) [-]
Halo 2&3 Work out map flow. Map control time objectives (Snipers/Rockets/OS's)
Halo Reach failed in that aspect though invasion was the only redeemable quality.
Halo 4 imo failed in all of these by simply *Get 2 kills* Here's a needler for your killtacular that you needed. despite being already ahead.
User avatar #62 to #33 - bronybox (10/03/2013) [-]
I agree with you.
I could never quite understand why I didn't like playing Halo: Reach as much as Halo 3, and I think you, and the guy above you, pretty much gave it to me.

Map control and map flow. Halo has always been about the map, that's what made forge so enticing, making your own map with it's own flow. You have to work for the weapon you want, you have to work for that over-shield, plan on grabbing it when it spawns, toss the almost empty shotgun over the ledge so that it can reset the spawn timer, etc.
User avatar #52 to #33 - darkjustifier (10/03/2013) [-]
um as an avid Halo fan I have to disagree.
User avatar #63 to #52 - bronybox (10/03/2013) [-]
As an avid Halo fan I agree with him in it's entirety. I always wondered why I disliked Halo:Reach so much and never really wanted to play it as much as Halo 3, I think he just hit the nail on the head.
User avatar #66 to #63 - darkjustifier (10/04/2013) [-]
Probably because it was so much different then the others in terms of story
User avatar #67 to #66 - bronybox (10/04/2013) [-]
Oh no, I liked the Campaign, I hated the multiplayer.

The campaign I even went and beat by myself on Legendary just like I did with Halo 3. Halo will always have on of my favorite stories, no matter how the game plays. Plenty of easter eggs to go around (I was pissed that you no longer had to find the skulls though)

After doing so, the only reason I ever really played Reach was Forge (Which I COULD create a pseudo-halo 3 affect in, plus all the creative, fun games you could make), the basic game types which didn't give you 50million weapon starting options (Swat, TDM), and sometimes play something with my friends.
User avatar #70 to #67 - kyrozor (10/04/2013) [-]
Dit

Halo Campaigns are always well just Halo. Just good fun to raom around and blow stuff up. Fun to replay on Legendary it's the multiplayer that adds the extended replayability and they just haven't felt 100% right since 3.
User avatar #53 to #52 - kyrozor (10/03/2013) [-]
Plus Halo 4 absolutely butchered the options available for custom games. Take infection as a huge example. Look at how little there is to edit in terms of gameplay compared to even Halo 2's Infection options.

Personally I played the living **** out of halo 3 and halo reach. I really loved both of those games but I couldnt get into halo 4. I mean, it might have just been that it felt like a really weird CoD/Halo hybrid but it also may have just been that i've played halo for so long it bored me.

In any event, I still refuse to believe it was as well developed as halo 3 or halo reach was, but thats just my personal opinion.
User avatar #64 to #24 - darkjustifier (10/03/2013) [-]
You feel for me? dude I enjoyed the game and all the ones before it and play them regularly, I enjoyed all the assassin's creeds, all of them and many other games people hated for some reason because I look not just for gameplay but for story too and graphics I could care less for they're just a bonus
User avatar #71 to #64 - bronybox (10/04/2013) [-]
The story is nice and all, but the story alone does not give a game extended replay value unless it's a decision based storyline that changes based on your actions.

I love Reach's campaign, but it's multi-player was simply not fun by comparison to Halo 2 and 3. It had a good forge mode going for it though.

At the most, all that RPG would do is kill the white guy by hitting him in the head really hard. The warhead needs to acquire a certain amount of inertia before it can detonate, I believe. It's a sort of failsafe, so you can't accidentally blow yourself up.
