It is a rather good looking game but that is about all there is that is positive about it. It is a fairly generic shooter that seemed to have a decent story up until the ending. I have never experienced another story as ****** to it's main character as Killzone Shadow fall, it made the journey feel pointless. I returned the game, unfortunately now I only have 1 ps4 game.

>"generic"
-Owl drone that can deploy a shield, stun enemies, shoot enemies, double as a zipline, hack alarms to turn them off (among other hackable things), and revive you if you die and have a spare adrenaline pack.

-Large, diverse levels ranging from semi-open world forest level to the narrow corridors of an abandoned space ship, each level providing a bit of choice in how to proceed, either stealthily, or direct, or evasive in some instances.

-Unique guns, such as a scoped three burst whose bullets are a hybrid between explosive and electric.

-Aforementioned adrenaline packs that not only let the owl revive you, but you can also use them when you're about to die to boost your health, and enter slow motion when you aim down sights for a limited time

-abilities in multiplayer ranging from something simple like being able to revive teammates, to something like being able to teleport to a random team mate who's in need of support.

If you like to live on fantasy island and want all of your stories to have happy endings, that's your opinion, but this killzone's far from generic. 3 might've been, but this one isn't.

I tried hard to enjoy it, of course I wanted to, it was 50% of what I got with my ps4 but like I said, it was a very generic fps. Boring simple combat, a broken cover system, terrible A.I, movements felt clunky and jumping was awful. Just because the had a buddy that follows you around and health packs that can also revive you does not make it unique, both of those things are very common these days, as are guns and diverse levels. Go watch Angry Joe's review, he can explain it much better than I can. I will say though, I was enjoying it somewhat until that damn ending, that truly was terrible.

I liked it. A huge step up from killzone 3. Campaign was fun and pretty varied imo, had some unexpected puzzles and platforming segments, they did a good job of changing things up from time to time so as not to make the shooting get repetitive. Plus the ending surprised the hell out of me. And what auesis said about multiplayer, only spawn camp's not that bad unless you're playing only TDM. Otherwise people are too busy focusing on objectives to spawn camp.

Campaign was kinda lame - some nice setpieces and the concept could have been good (seeing both sides of the conflict etc), but the delivery falls flat.

Multiplayer so far has been pretty classic Killzone, but with a much more balanced class system and I much prefer the progression. Spawn camps are still pretty bad, though.

I liked the campaign. loved the owl. wish there was a bit more closure at the end. instead of a what now? thing, where you wait 2 years to see what happens next
