To me, and this is just my thought on it. From an adult conservative view where you put yourself outside your personal thoughts and into the professional state of mind, people who post in a ah-ha type of way are edgy to me. Its when someone post something for the shock and awe aspect. I can almost see them congratulating themselves for posting, "like oh man, thats going to ruffle some feathers",
Whatever /pol/ doesn't like at this point.
It's now a buzzword to what used to be an accurate point for labeling the fall of man's empires at the hands of the fruits of their success.
I can't think of anything more destructive to the English language than /pol/ attempting to use big and/or old words, to sound pseudo-intellectual. Just like what they did to "Cuckold"
It just now occurs to me that you may have been asking a rhetorical question, but I'm an autistic faggot, so I'll answer it anyways
every "Deep Dark Fears" is retarded and edgy
I'm scared that I'm actually a dog
I'm scared my ******* guts will come flying out if I play with my belly button
I'm scared that I'll die and my cat will eat just my eyelids and lips
I'm scared that I'm constantly screaming and somehow I don't know this and everyone acts like I'm normal
I'm scared that there's a ghost behind me when my cat looks at me funny
I'm scared that my friend will trip and break my legs
I'm scared that there's bug and **** like teeth in my drinks
Everything different or rebellous is edgy!
Yep, you've become one of the sheep who must always adapt to the social standards. Good job! I hope you're proud.
>Yep, you've become one of the normies who must always adapt to the social standards.
If anything that's an argument for why you definitely should discard his opinion.
Heres what I don't get. Out of all these years of people misusing "edgy" on almost every post ever, why is it when edgy is used in a correct way on this post it gets called out?
It's like FJ is predestined to be wrong about everything.
It isn't used in a correct way in thi case. OP is obviously making a joke, not giving a serious opinion or thought process in any way, so it doesn't really apply, does it?
A joke can still be edgy. An atheist posting a picture of the bible in a microwave with a pizza slice on it and then saying "This is the only thing this book is good for." is a joke, but it's still edgy.
Well, the example you give is half joke half true or rather his opinion . It's just a humerous way of expressing his opinion on religion. In this case, I wouldn't assume the Mary story is the actual reason the maker likes Metal music and drawing pentagrams and stuff like that...
While this playing tiddly winks with edgeville, it isn't edgy. Then a again just disagreeing with someone's opinion on FJ is apparently edgy these days.
