i think he was aiming to put it on the lower left corner of the goal...but miscalculated a little.

then again that goalie would have most certainly catched the ball anyway

I'm supporting the US team for the sole reason that if they somehow happen to win by the slightest of chances, nobody will have expected it at all.

Nobody thinks America's going to win the World Cup you ******* twat. That guy going around saying they will is a troll, you ignorant bastard. That being said, I think the USA's chances of winning are actually higher than 1 percent. I think they can beat Portugal. No way in hell will they beat Germany unless they pull some luck out of their ass. If you can't beat Germany, it's not very likely you'll win the cup.

Ye but you're not making a valid point. The Netherlands team is actually considered to be good, they almost won the last world cup and they're a pretty strong side. So what's your point, it wasn't overly surprising that they beat Spain, they were only slightly (VERY SLIGHTLY) the underdogs.
User avatar #40 to #39 - angelious ONLINE (06/17/2014) [-]
statistically speaking they were pretty badly the underdogs.also was it netherlands or holland?

As a nuetral, It honestly doesn't make sense to me why portugal doesn't do well internationally. Yes, I'm aware they lack a good center forward, but a lot of other more mediocre teams have even less and do better. I'm not just basing this off of today's match, but of all the matches i've watched portugal play. They were bad in the last WC, woeful in the euros, and now this (granted they face good opposition most of the time).
User avatar #6 to #4 - jleblucypher (06/17/2014) [-]
Apart from Ronaldo, Pepe, Contraeo and Mountinho maybe, the rest of the team is below average
User avatar #8 to #6 - grantkairo (06/17/2014) [-]
We have great players like those you mentioned, but we also have Bruno Alves, Beto (Sevilla won League Europa thanks to him) and Raúl Meireles, they came from FC Porto who introduces them to better leagues and makes them known, Portugal could do lot better like when we won Spain 4-0 in a friendly match, but our coach is known for being stubborn and always uses the same players which some shouldn't even have been called like Nani and Vieirinha who were injured the whole season or didn't play. Quaresma, Rolando and Antunes deserved a chance, and the blame now goes to our coach and board who we wish were better.
User avatar #9 to #8 - jleblucypher (06/17/2014) [-]
I understand but remember a friendly is completely different from the World Cup. The rest of the team and coach need to think of new and better solutions if they want to save their world cup campaign. Ronaldo can't always bail Portugal out like he did against Sweden, he is only Human
User avatar #10 to #9 - grantkairo (06/17/2014) [-]
Yes, I know that and honestly I'm sick and tired to see our coach make Ronaldo do all the work, our coach even placed him as a midfielder during the game so he could get the ball, and maybe if he had called Quaresma maybe Ronaldo wouldn't have so much pressure, and we would have someone more loose in the attack, our midfielders looked like they were sleeping in the beginning of the game, also Pepe made me really mad because he acted childish and now we have less 3 players including Hugo Almeida and Coentão who are now injured, thankfully we have Bruno Alves who I always considered a better and more mature player than Pepe
User avatar #11 to #10 - jleblucypher (06/17/2014) [-]
Hope they get better cus personally i want to see Ronaldo do well in this world cup, quite tired of hearing the fans and media bashing him while going crazy and cumming hard whenever Messi simply touches the ball. Also you are lucky you aren't me, I support Nigeria and after last night, they have rustled my jimmies beyond redemption
User avatar #12 to #11 - grantkairo (06/17/2014) [-]
I don't even know how Iran is holding itself up, I didn't had the opportunity to see Nigeria-Iran, but against Nigeria isn't easy, I always support my country even in these situations but i think this year Germany and Netherlands are out of reach, but we'll see, football always has its surprises

in English it means the sport american football or it means the ball used in soccer. i guess a lot of countries adapted the spelling "football" to say soccer as well which i think is weird. i figured since Google defined football in English it meant it was in fact defining it in English but either it only defines American English or people have been using football wrong for a long time all over the world
