Compared to local places If you don't live west of the Mississippi river Domino's does suck ass. As far as nationwide chains, ever since they redid their recipe about 5 years ago, they are the best and cheapest.

Yeah I mean if I'm drunk at 11 pm and all the mom & pop shops have closed I'll side for Dominoes, but I work for a family friends pizzeria and my family had one for thirty years before we closed up shop two summers ago, I've practically lived off real pizzeria food my whole life haha. We just started doing pizza cones at my place, let me know when Dominoes starts doing these beauties

While I don't think he should be making a big deal out of it, it's not so much what the word is, but how it's used.

It's about the fact that he's being degraded down to his physical appearance, rather than being called by name, which he gave.

It's the same thing as someone calling you "white boy", or "fat chick" or "black kid". If someone knows your name, then they should call you by it.

I understand how you feel sort of. I was bullied for most of my life for being a nerd. Nowadays though it's considered interesting and a good thing for a lot of people so people will even say it to me as a compliment. I've learned to live with it, even though it still sets off some bad memories.

Even my crush calls me a nerd sometimes. Those are conflicting emotions!

Annnd this is what happens when you try to raise kids in a world where you tell them bullying is always bad and they're all perfect little angels and you should never tolerate anyone being mean to you. We're pampering our kids so much that the smallest incidents get headline news. Oh my god little kid got called Ginger?!? So horrible! Not like there are any ******* wars going on, or nations who are too poor/insane to even feed their own people. But by all means lets ban a kid from school for eating a poptart in a gun shape because it might infect their precious little minds.

TL;DR: I'm siding with the robots.

User avatar #8 to #6 - flemsdfer ONLINE (08/03/2014) [-]
Why shouldn't we teach kids to not tolerate others being mean to them? They should learn to tolerate that kind of thing? Then they'd be pushovers. We should teach them to solve their problems without whining instead. Like for example "Don't bring the news into a reciept you don't agree with. Take it up with managment instead"
#13 to #8 - anon (08/03/2014) [-]
but it was a kid that was a ginger
User avatar #131 to #13 - kinginyellow (08/04/2014) [-]
But they bothered to put the other person's name on the bill, why not his? Just seems like they singled him out.
#170 to #8 - terminalinfinity (08/04/2014) [-]
Because there are always going to be asshole people and if you take the don't tolerate it mantra, you're gonna spend most of your life either being angry or fighting. Tolerating it and not letting it bother you isnt a sign of weakness, its sign of strength. Anyone can fly off the handle at anything directed at them. Choosing your battles is the wiser of the options. Dont create pushovers, but for god's sake, teach your kids self-defense AND self-control, to have a line but be able to take a joke. When you teach them they are above being made fun of, you create an oversensative pussy, not a tough kid. Did this kid go in and start **** for being made fun of? No, he cried. Congrats, you have a pushover AND a pussy.

And before you start anything about me being insensitive, consider the fact that I was this kid. Not ginger, but a cuddled kid and the product of an over-bearing, over-affectionate mother. I was oversensitive and miserable for a long time. Learning to take a joke was the best thing for me. I speak out of experience.

Tumblr is the creation of those who took the "dont take any insults" mantra. So is the lady on the right in this picture.
User avatar #194 to #170 - flemsdfer ONLINE (08/04/2014) [-]
You don't have to lash out angrily to not tolerate something. Refusing to tolerate can go as far lashing out, but can be as little as not associating yourself with those you dislike. This kid could have taking the receipt to the manager, laid it on the desk and said "Is this good behavior for the people who work here?". He would've stood up for himself, and most definitely gotten a free pizza.

Well, my town is a pop of about 4,000 with most of it's population in the 45-65 year old age group and a big agriculture history so essentially all we have here is rednecks and old folks who don't know much about computers and internet piracy, and that's basically why we're still around as a business I guess. Believe it or not, the year Netflix came here (Canadian user btw) we not only didn't lose any revenue, we had a better year than the last few years before it. =D so basically we just buy a lot of Liam Neeson movies and have a fully stocked Westerns section and prospects based on our revenues say we should be okay into 2020 or so.

TL;DR I survive because old people don't internet. #phew

That's interesting, thanks for the response. My town in Australia is similar, but is being rapidly urbanised, so I guess we'll see where that goes for the local Blockbuster.
