Dear everyone,

His son's last name would be MacDonald.

Sincerely,
Tennant is a stage name
User avatar #65 to #62 - zomitlu ONLINE (10/15/2013) [-]
...which he has now fully adopted and is using outside of stage.
User avatar #2 - allamericandude (10/15/2013) [-]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I heard David Tennant is only a stage name.
User avatar #3 to #2 - davidispissed (10/15/2013) [-]
He's actually David McDonald, but he had to change it as a David McDonald already exist in the actors guild.
User avatar #19 to #3 - realreality (10/15/2013) [-]
Then he should name his son Ronald.

That sounds badass as ****

Source is Top Gear, BTW. He said this when he was interviewed there. As far as I remember, he changed his actual name, not just a stage name.

In Britain, that rank is pronounced left-tennant because lou-tennent sounds like a loo tennent, someone who takes care of toilets.

Haa, and then his son follows in his father and grandfather's footsteps, becomes the 15th doctor (it would keep the family as one every 5 doctors.)

but Time Lords can only regenerate 13 times, unless he was given extra regenerations in the Time War, which we do not know for sure.
User avatar #77 to #71 - teranin ONLINE (10/15/2013) [-]
the thing about that they've proven time and again is that the doctor lies, and the series lies. Plus, the limit on regenerations was an arbitrary limit put forth by the time lord council, since that council no longer exists that law no longer exists ergo he could conceivably regenerate an unlimited number of times.
#90 to #77 - verby ONLINE (10/17/2013) [-]
Except he has a limited amount of regeneration energy, remember?
User avatar #91 to #90 - teranin ONLINE (10/17/2013) [-]
The limitation was set by the time lord council. Now he is the only remaining time lord, further he has spent hundreds of years between certain recent chunks of the show, and is now over 2000 years old. A lot can happen.
#92 to #91 - verby ONLINE (10/17/2013) [-]
So the Time Lord Council set a physical limit? A likely story...

This guy's right. There was a mission in Fallout: NV called G.I. Blues when you had to figure out what happened to victims of the NCR attack. You have to talk to Roy and then Wayne who has trouble remembering what he saw after the fight. He says that one of the guys uttered the name "Lou Tenant." Roy will correct him, saying that the word is "Lieutenant."

Actually, that was a reference to the first Fallout game where the Vault Dweller faces against a Super Mutant named "Lieutenant" who is referred to his less intelligent sub-ordinates as "Lou Tenant".

actually thats the one time i concede over language. i still think that Colour needs the U but as far as im concerned there is not ******* F in it.
its that and the fact that ground floor is the first floor. credit when its due.

Wait, Brits call the ground floor the first floor? That makes so much ******* sense I hate it when people won't say first floor.

exactly. who the **** starts counting at 0? wankers, thats who. like i said. some things really piss me off but im not british enough to moan about things that are actually an improvement.
User avatar #31 to #30 - meganinja ONLINE (10/15/2013) [-]
If you Brits call the first floor the first floor, then I'll give ya that one.

I still stand by the fact that the word 'mum' was conceived by Satan.

why exactly? dont get me wrong, im fairly sure some of our spellings must just be to **** with people but Mum is hardly the worst one.

It's just the way that it's pronounced it sounds like something a chav would say. I don't know who you've been hanging around, but I haven't heard the word niche used very often.

every time on the rooster teeth podcast, (actually its used like every week for some reason) and in GTA 5 they say it. makes me cringe. i think it just people reading it and not knowing how its pronounced to be honest.
