The pencil wood is actually a pulpy particle-wood that has a lot of glue in it. Makes you able to do this with it, but its a really ********* quality pencil.

What do you mean low quality? Particle wood pencils are the best, they're stronger and the wood is compressed around the lead, making sure its almost always centered. Not to mention they're still usable without carving off almost half of the remaining pencil when they break, because it breaks flat, as seen above. The only thing that may be bad is the lead, but that has nothing to do with the wood.

The reason it's ****** is because the lead is usually poor quality as well and doesn't write or erase easily. A good DIXON will beat those any day of the week.

Those are the bendy ones, yeah? I used to carve totems out of those things. And then I'd do mini-idles, with really horrific faces, and leave them in really unnerving places in middle school.
