Wait what the **** ? Did another projectile hit the rifle? Or did it just ****** explode for no reason

Probably a spiked round.

Special forces in the past have laced enemy rounds with special spiked rounds. The spiked rounds will cause this kind of damage real easy

Dang, even on the glorious Kalashnikov? hardcore, i had no idea.

Oh yeah a spiked round can cause this kind of catastrophic failure.

Even more so when they only place a few rounds here and there of it. Always screws with your head thinking if they got a bad round or something,or thinking the AK is a piece of **** (when in reality, when SHTF I would want an AK/Mosin/SKS over the M4/M16)

Id take an AK definetly. No matter what you put that poor rifle through itll go bang as long as its loaded. Gotta love it.

My mosin will outlast your AK

Less moving parts, larger round, and all that jazz.

The thing I like about Soviet gear is it was meant to be used by the untrained mass. I just ordered 2 Yugo AK ba yonets for 20 bucks. Sure, its gonna be a bitch to get them to take the edge but theyll last damned near forever.

Yeah honestly i'd rather have a mosin. But i've never fired one so i cant attest to the accuracy or control, but I'd imagine a bolt action to be easier to maintain and have control over, opposed to an Ak. But hey man, hopefully **** wont hit the fan anytime soon.

I've been stocking up on rounds and Ive started getting my bugout bag together.

I strongly suggest using PPU in your Mosin if you get one. They are 200 bucks at Cabelas and spend the 80 bucks to get a used accessory package from BuyMilsurp.

The Monarch/Herters/steel cased surplus is a bit too heavy a round to sling out the gun. IF you find it,t he copper washed light ball is fine, but remember to run windex or Hoppes #9 through it when you are done shooting to stop the corrosive salts.

if you feel like spending the money, get an all numbers matching mosin, and look into an after market stock to lighten it up. A 200$ gun can be made into a wonderful shooter if you feel like investing into it(It wont be M40 specs, but it will surely outlast anything you could throw at it)
