Well really you're not "normal" - you're normative, you are the default that we derive difference from. I doubt you've ever had to seriously consider coming out as straight to your parents and peers? If you haven't, then why do gay men feel the need to come out? Because by default it's assumed that if you don't say it outright you're heterosexual and hence if you're not - you're not normative/"normal". So, I'm glad you think you are, I kind of think it's healthy to have that perspective of the self, but from one man to another I'm telling you that that way of thinking applied to others just propagates the problem.

You're actually retarded. Go back to Tumblr.

I don't have a tumblr account and nor would I want one. As a white gay guy I get as much flak for being cis-homosexual - the normative of the gay community as well as accused of stealing black female culture, I have as much right to be annoyed at political correctness. What I said above is a fairly valid theory - white, cis-gendered heterosexuals are literally the manifestation of what our current society (myself included) view as being the 'norm' - you are encouraged at an early age to grow up, marry and have kids - which for some men & women across the world isn't possible without some kind of intervention (medical or otherwise). If you view certain factors that are often not within your control (i.e. you were born with them) as being normal, then how are the people who are not able to fit within them or have them meant to feel? Not Normal? Like Freaks or Perverts in some cases?

I feel pretty normal - but by OP's statement I can't be.

I'm not talking morally. I'm talking statistically. Statistically, conforming to whatever gender you were born with is normal. You have to accept that.
#11 to #10 - anon (07/31/2014) [-]
Neither was I - gender & sexuality on the level of individuality has very little to do with statistics or statistical data - you are likely going to perform a masculine gender if you've spent your formative years playing with cars and trucks and been told at some point that boys shouldn't play with dolls or boys don't cry etc. And vice versa for girls. Yes Statistically I imagine there are more cis-gendered people out there than non-cis-gendered but it's interesting that you feel that said individuals should conform because of it even if it makes them unhappy, miserable, less effective.
And funnily enough the google definition of normal uses just that: conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected - and yet again my point is given validity, to be normal by that definition is to conform to a standardised ideal - if statistically being straight and cisgender is normal then by that definition I can never be, which I feel I am - like many, many others that you're ignoring.

It is normal to put my penis into a vagina. That is how babies are made and our species can procreate.

I saved you the trouble of looking up the definition of normal.

He is normal.

This is what the word means.

Now get your pretentious ass of that high horse.

You're not normal, you're average. The idea of "normal" varies from person to person - what some find normal, others find weird as **** . No one is truly normal.

Normal means conforming to the norm.

Norms usually means the standard model, the typical pattern, the usual, the expected or the average. (Although it can also mean standards of proper or acceptable behavior.)

So he could very well call himself normal.
User avatar #17 to #15 - thechosentroll (07/31/2014) [-]
Yes, but the norm varies wildly from location to location.
#18 to #17 - auryn (07/31/2014) [-]
I sincerely doubt that.

Virtually everywhere cis heterosexual is the standard.
