Well here we go again, I'll tell you the tale, as I've told in tales of old':

Twas a time a young boy, with his friends, in the wilderness they did strike
Exploring to their young hearts content, a field they found, assumed to be a military training area. Small houses, abandoned objects, and bullet casings. Unsure they were, and they happened upon a graveyard. A small gate surrounded, and the graveyard was labeled with a number.

"Nonsense" I thought. Not too far from the military base we were. Surely they were just falsities, "props" I thought. There was something odd though, the grave was full of children's toys, and they all looked weathered. Upon closer inspection we discovered that they were all that of children, with one standing stone in the back, no name, but that of an adult.

Foolishly I thought to make merry. "Oh show, us a sign, spirits, if you are there." Taunted them I did, and they did answer. One of my friends threw up, the other, clutched his head as if, possessed. The next thing that enters my memory, is a blade held back, by my own hand. Through instinct, I had stopped my death. My friend, had pulled out a 6 inch hunting knife, and was trying to drive it into my flesh.

Struggled we did, until the knife was cast away. Afterwards we left, never to enter the forest again, and never to speak of the incident again. The would killer bought us all sustenance afterwards, we ate, with few words, I in disbelief. It was such an odd occurrence. I believe that is the day, that I learned to stop trusting. I trust no one. Because even the one you would have called your brother... might just try to kill you tomorrow or even today. As someone who believes and disbelieves I can't say whether or not, the spirits I had taunt, truly struck back at us. I do not know, but it is not a nice memory, it is more of sorrow.

And it as they say, to one who is odd, there is never a normal day.

Dude. You could make money from story telling. That was ******* excellent, even though it is a memory that you turned into a story, if you were good at making short plots, you could make money from writing short-stories.

I couldn't be more happy to hear it. To be honest I'm a failed author, failed as in I never managed to write anything. My life isn't what I would describe as "normal" and the abnormal has done a great deal of damage to me. These days it's about staying alive. Though I do hope that I'm able to write again one day. I've got wonderful ideas for stories... stories I want to create and share. That being said, a man like me... it's hard to imagine something as obscure as "success". There are so many things I want to do, but there is that irony again, it seems like I can't do any of them. Maybe I'm cursed. I don't know, but the fact that I'm alive despite everything I've experienced, well, it's proof alone that I haven't completely given up yet.
User avatar #224 to #199 - SCREWTHERULES (12/29/2013) [-]
Dude, is that true? Was your friend possessed or just a psychopath? I would love to hear more true stories from you.
#246 to #224 - infinitereaper (12/29/2013) [-]
Is it true? I've never told a lie.

Jokes aside, I'm not sure really. I'm pretty sure he was genuinely crazy, but I can't discount the possibilities, maybe it was a mixture of both. Especially considering our own backgrounds. Believe it or not, we both had small blood related histories revolving the paranormal. The future runs through my blood apparently, and the dead through his. Maybe that's why I could serve as a trigger, maybe that's why he could serve as a conduit, or perhaps, he was just insane. Any answer doesn't really make me any happier. As for stories, my life has been nothing special, but I do have a few.

Nothing special really. I'll tell the tale of paradise lost now:

When I was younger, I fell in love, well, it was more of a crush really. I met her, a girl, I believe... I was in 3rd grade at the time. Her name was... well, names don't really matter here, the point is that she was special to me. Of course, she never returned those feelings. We were friends, but nothing more. The day came when we had to go our separate ways. I never forgot about her. For some reason, whenever I thought about love or relationships... I automatically thought about her. For years... it was always her. When I'm older, we get back into contact. We talk, and talk... and talk. For hours, for entire days, it was strange really. By that time my heart had gone numb, and we were great friends again. Then one day out of the blue, she tells me she loves me. I was taken back. I had felt love for her for years... for no apparent reason, expecting nothing. Then more than half a decade later she's fallen for me.

But that was just the beginning of the cruel reality. Wonderful right? I find out she's moving to where I am... 1 month after I find out I'd be moving soon. We were long distance lovers, but we managed to meet once, nothing else but holding each other. I had no courage, I could barely look her in the eye. Things really fell apart from there.
User avatar #247 to #246 - infinitereaper (12/29/2013) [-]
We broke up shortly, I moved away, and for a year or so fell into the darkness pits of emptiness, by the time I had talked to her again she was with someone else. My youthful heart cried out, I wanted to take her back, I fought as hard as I could, but of course, just like reality had torn us apart, and the distance between us was too great. She loses her virginity eventually, and just like that I finally realize that everything is lost. She’s never coming back to me. I’ll never be the one. Children, gone, a future gone, everything gone. And even she lost. That scum bag (as I had warned her) turned out to be nothing but trouble after all. She had her heart broken a second time. By him.
I can’t help but feel an irony.
I loved her for years, even without knowing it, almost as if I had just known that we were meant to love each other. It took more than half a decade, against all odds (things like this never happen) for that love to as if by some miracle, be returned, more than in full, it was stronger than mine even. I had been infatuated, but she loved me more than I’ve ever been loved, and by the time my heart had fully returned that intensity even surpassing hers it was too late.
She was actually going to live where I was… right when I had to move.
She was taken by somebody else when I had finally managed to summon the strength to obtain our love with a death grip.

Nothing but cruel reality. Had we had our time together, like proper lovers, we would be together today. The NTR was enough to break my heart, but the accumulation of it all (I can safely say) killed me, on that day. I was already dead. Bad end. Yes. My life’s story had reached a bad end. In all of my life I kept seeing all of my worst nightmares come to pass. All except one:
User avatar #248 to #247 - infinitereaper (12/29/2013) [-]
Dying in a pool of my own blood. And so here I am, still alive. But completely worthless. My health is horrible, I suffer chronic pain, my heart is broken, and my mind barely all that’s left. The future in which I would be living happily with a lover aspiring to a great future with all the motivation in the world is gone. I failed in everything, from being an author to becoming anything. Love is just one thing.

I have to wonder if the last nightmare will become reality. Everything else did. Frankly, I’m tired of not being able write my own story. Honestly, how does this kind of **** happen in the first place?

Yea. I think it's somewhere around 10 ahead of where the anime ended. Maybe a bit more than that. The anime ended somewhere around volume 40 I think.
User avatar #304 to #237 - snowshark (12/29/2013) [-]
No, there's plenty to work with. The anime ended on Annie, no? In which case there's a whole arc FULL of interesting titan stuff to work through. However the first season of the anime worked through two seasons of the manga so... yeah if they do that again you're gonna be waiting a few years since the manga is a monthly release.
User avatar #310 to #304 - newforomador (12/29/2013) [-]
Okay. I don't actually know very much with manga to anime stuff, and it's been awhile since I watched it. Warning, actual spoiler ahead I mostly can't wait to see the fight scene where Ymir reveals that she's a titan. I forget the full name of the place, but I remember it was Fort something
