Is it possible that there's a vault with one person in it? Just the one to see how long a man could go insane in compelete solitude?
#115 to #109 - anon (01/05/2014) [-]
On the Fallout wiki there is a list of all known vaults and all the experiments that took place in them.

yes indeed, Vault 77, the vault with one man... and a box of puppets

Oh **** , I forgot the Fallout guy was a weapon! Was that a Mod or DLC, anyone know?

one talked about by penny arcade had a man with nothing but hand puppets. He went insane and rode a giant ant with a vault boy puppet for company. he killed super mutants with his bare hands.

In the first two games, you can even accidentally...... children.

I want a 2 vault experiments; One with all black people, one with all white people.
See what forms of racism are confirmed.
#317 to #82 - PadreRasta (01/05/2014) [-]
Well, since they don't really have personalities or thoughts (they are just NPCs, not real, you know), making such thing on a game would be as successful as discussing about it, because the experiment would never happen really, just the programmers thinking about possible outcomes.
Pic half related, only Fallout pic I have.
#103 - boobpube (01/05/2014) [-]
If anyone likes the idea of vaults as social experiments, check out the book trilogy Wool, Shift, and Dust, really good interesting read about an underground silo living in an Orwellian 1984 style leadership, with an inhospitable outside world.

now i want to go get fallout, i feel bad for not playing it sooner
User avatar #137 to #35 - whiplasher (01/05/2014) [-]
Go ahead man, you're in of the adventure of your life. I advise you to play all of them (maybe except Fallout: Tactics) because the first two games are masterpieces. Fallout 3 is also a great game, and New Vegas is my favorite game of all time.
User avatar #318 to #35 - tommythecatt (01/05/2014) [-]
I Just recently started playing Fallout 3, and I'm very impressed. I highly recommend you do the same. Game of the Year edition is under 20 bucks, and includes all the DLC which I haven't even touched yet.
User avatar #36 to #35 - cyanidesandvich (01/05/2014) [-]
Dont feel bad, now you get to play it for the first time.
something anyone who has played it misses.

I bought fallout new Vegas while it was on steam Christmas sale, but all i have done the last 10 hour in the game is dying because of those pesky mutants which is ****** everywhere! and they seems to be way above my level.

Or i might just suck that bad...

go quest somewhere else for a while and then go back.

9 times out of 10, that's going to be your problem
#235 to #233 - jonball ONLINE (01/05/2014) [-]
I might have to pick up the game someday again, i was just expecting the game to be more ''open'' as it seems like i am only able to stay in the town i start in.
User avatar #254 to #235 - alexkarino (01/05/2014) [-]
Well just like any game you really can go where ever you want, but the reason it starts you off in goodsprings is because the game expects you to do the first few missions. Learn to play the game. Find some weapons. Once you've been playing for over 30 hours and have a good grasp on the Fallout games; You can skip most parts of Fallout 3 and Fallout NV by just going directly to the next part.
#276 to #232 - anon (01/05/2014) [-]
Are you by chance wandering around black mountain? The super mutant getaway spa, run by a demented night kin?

yeah.

Don't start there.

Go leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeft of the starting town
#194 to #36 - anon (01/05/2014) [-]
Well except the part with the deathclaws.
#177 to #36 - swiggityswooty (01/05/2014) [-]
should i go with 3 or new vegas?
#207 to #177 - anon (01/05/2014) [-]
masturbate first.
whichever one you still have feelings for, after you're done, is the one.
User avatar #179 to #177 - immabored (01/05/2014) [-]
PC or Console? Certain PCs have problems running Fallout 3, so I'd recommend New Vegas. Either way, you can't really go wrong with the 2.
User avatar #183 to #181 - immabored (01/05/2014) [-]
Well then flip a coin! Lol. Personally, I liked the story in Fallout 3 more than NV, but the gameplay felt better in NV.

and be massively dissapointed at the ****** gameplay. dont get me wrong, i like the game, but the fighting system sucks ass

Ont he other hand, being actually related to the topic, keep these going no matter what. This is the most interesting thing I've read in a LONG time.

well, there is a finite number of vaults, so i can probably milk 1-2 more comps from vaults.
but i only really want to stretch it 1 more at most, then cover something else.

So, apparently Vault 70's social experiment was "how can we **** with mormons?"
Also, I so never got around to going to vault 108, now I must.

I love these. They are like clockworkfive's gaming comps, but Vault themed.

I've never really been that into the vaults, and I normally tend to only go in the ones I needed too, but **** , I didn't realize all the **** I was missing out on.

Plus I'd always get ******* lost.
