I think it's about all the bugs that end up in our food ground up in the factories. Hell, rats too. Disgusting.
User avatar #29 to #1 - gentlemanotaku (01/16/2014) [-]
you know theres a food dye thats made of bugs, that probably helps towards the count
User avatar #2 to #1 - Twithyiguess (01/15/2014) [-]
They blew it out of proportion, the real test was 'pieces of bug' or something along that line, many things we eat contain bits of bugs, some small part in a huge number is acceptable to sell. I can't remember hardly any of it but I had to do a paper on it at some point, so it's not like we're solidly eating bugs, but we do eat a lot of pieces of bugs.

It's also an average.

Mexicans with their bug candy and other such ******** and assorted factors increases that number by approximately a metric ******* .

It might be general trypophobia.

Fear of clustered, mostly uneven holes. Be careful googling it, it often comes up images that can trigger.

Correct me if im wrong, but arent the two most common fears Flying and Public Speaking?
User avatar #44 to #43 - RandomAnonGuy (01/16/2014) [-]
Public speaking maybe, but flying? I'd lump that under heights.
User avatar #46 to #44 - thefifthdoctor (01/16/2014) [-]
It not the height people are afraid of, its the thought of crashing.
User avatar #47 to #46 - RandomAnonGuy (01/16/2014) [-]
It's not the height people are afraid of, it's falling.

The thing about mosquitoes is technically incorrect. The body's natural response to parasites is to inflame the area via histamine signaling. This causes a build up of fluids in the skin that deter parasites, as well as making the area itchy which encourages scratching that will remove clinging parasites.

Allergies occur when non-parasitic harmless particles/materials trigger this response due to a hyper-sensitive immune system. This is why allergies usually are associated with itching, rashes, and runny noses (to flush out parasites from the nasal cavities).
