"So, the other day I burged this flavin gurgur and she fuddled my rugershtube."

I'm from the UK and there isn't much that is as fun as confusing Americans with "foreign" words.

Its often used when something is so broken, it broke the word broken. If you can fix the item, its broken. If its so broken that that is literally impossible, its borked.

Apparently it is a word, I've never heard it used before but the actual definition is different than what urban dictionary says.

>Why yes! Stacy and I have been friends for years
>Yes, but are you friends over Facebook?
>I don't see why not?
>Have you added her?
>Shouldn't Facebook know we are friends, I mentioned in my hobbies that I like to have phone conversations with my friends.
>Yes grandma but Facebook doesn't know who your friends are.
>What a silly invention. It doesn't know my friends after I say that I like talking to my friends!
2 hours later we I had her account up and running and had added her friends.

Why would you ever try to explain coding to your mom?
To me, that'll be hell on earth. I mean, one time I used the terminal in linux when she was in the room. She freaked out, thinking there'll be police officers kicking down our door any second. Even though the only command I typed was

sudo apt-get update

"yes you can"

>Yes you can

Using this, I have a home server with citrix on it since I'm a virtualisation specialist so yeah I need it for practice.

Every ******* time someone comes around and says "Why's that computer on in the cupboard"

"Because it's my server"
"What does it do?"
"do you really care?"

Also it's more fun if you make a website that just has a picture of them and set it to their home. Just a picture and maybe some text like "I see you"

You're on the right path, not sure where you live but in the UK I got a PPP in Btec software engineering level 3 and my GCSEs are just pure C and a A* in ICT. That got me ******* no where I spent a year unemployed so I started to code, I applied for a HSBC apprenticeship that started on £17,500 (Yes for a ******* apprenticeship) showed them my code, printed out loads of **** , connected to my home server, showed off a few things from my old minecraft server and some video editing skills.

Boom, I work for hsbc. No thanks to my grades, experience will always get you farther in ICT even better if you can explain it to them on the spot.
Also what part didn't you understand, I'm happy to explain.

lol

but yea i live in the states, if my plans for the military fall through ill go to college for coding or English
User avatar #48 to #46 - mrchris ONLINE (12/17/2013) [-]
Well the server doesn't really need to have a great air supply, sticking it in a cupboard keeps it out of the way and since it runs headless I just remote to the computer itself if any errors are thrown around. **** the military, you'll have a better life working with computers but if you really want to do comms in the military pref. the navy. You sail around working on pc's making port once every few month even if the systems they use are god awfully ancient.

I never understood why older people have trouble with this. They could figure out half of this stuff just by using a logical approach, instead of convincing themselves that they don't understand it. Consider this. Sure, maybe you don't know what a 'syntax error' is. But 'syntax' means proper arrangement, and 'error' means problem. Put two and two together and you get 'a problem with the arrangement', which is close enough - it doesn't take a particularly large leap from there to deduce that there's a problem in how the code is arranged, and like most things it has to be in a certain order for it to work.

It's not terrible per se; it has very hit or miss "nerdy" jokes, with the ones that hit being pretty funny, but you won't be able to hear most of them because the extremely-exaggerated laugh track that's still pretty much going on from the very first joke of the episode will be covering the other ones in laughter.

Thank you for posting some BBT content. I seriously don't know how so many people can bash this show yet they love HIMYM on here. I think it should be the opposite. I personally feel BBT is one of the greatest sitcoms on TV right now. I watch it every night. So many people bitch about the laugh track when every other sitcom has one, so what. I really connected with the show and I think Jim Parsons does a great job on it, he pretty much is the show.

Besides the comedy it's go so many awesome guest, Brent Spiner, Leonard Nimoy, Summer Glau, Bob Newhart, Neil DeGrass Tyson, Bill Nye, and ************* Levar Burton. Wil Wheaton also makes regular appearances. Fun show if you are a trekkie.
