We' had 20 years of mass murderers throughout which I have
repeatedly told CNN and our other media, if you don' t want to
propagate more mass murderers:
Don' t start the story with sirens blaring.
Don' t have photographs of the killer.
Don' t make this coverage.
Do everything you can; not to make the body count the lead story,
not to make the killer some kind of .
Do localize this story to the affected community and make it as
boring as possible in every other market.
Because every time we have intense saturation coverage of a mass
murder we expect to see one or two more within a week.

The fact all "anti-gun" people ignore is the fact that if someone wants to commit mass murder THEY WILL DO IT.

PS: homemade bombs are illegal and people use those to commit mass murder

Gun control is targeted more at the small crimes. For example, drug dealers who cannot profitably use guns to commit crimes when supply is so tight that the bullets they're firing cost more than the drugs they're selling. Bombs are not used all that frequently to commit mass murder, unless you're counting the use by organized terrorist groups which actually train people on how to make an effective bomb. Building one using instructions you found online is at least as likely to kill you as it is to kill your target.

All that said, I would only support very limited gun control, and that which I would support would only be if asked to vote for or against it specifically. It's such an overstated issue that actively working for it is a total waste of time.

Yeah. We have some deep-seated societal problems that need to be addressed.
It's a confounding variable here. Those same problems are the reason why the news networks find it necessary to sensationalize mass murder, and why the people eat that **** up.

no, the person who does something like this is already disturbed as **** .
the intense media coverage just plants the idea in their minds.
people will more easily do something if they see someone else do it.
our brains just work like that.
at a minor scale, this has probably happened to you too.
when people stand at a red light, they will usually stand and wait even if no car is coming, until the first person walks over, then the others start to follow pretty quickly.

to be honest this shooting happened in a gun free zone if banning guns where the solution this wouldn't have happened because he was in a gun free zone now example he killed 9 people correct if only 1/3 of them had been armed and trained in the use of firearms the shooting wouldnt have happend or at least he woudl have been stopped before he killed/hurt as many as he did the solution is mental health programs ect and having the people use their 2nd amendment right of owning guns

Even if it was a gun free zone, why would more gun laws help this? He broke pretty much every single law we have in place to prevent this kind of thing. When people have no regard for the law... it doesn't prevent anything. The only reason it works is because most people follow it.

This has been one of the worst coverage of a mass murder.
First it was 15 dead.
Then it was 10.
It got bumped up to 13.
Now it settled at "More than 10."

I was at Physical Therapy getting my **** done yesterday and they had CNN on the TVs, as they often do. I was disappointed to see them covering the shooting the entire time, and disgusted to see them calling it a "massacre" in giant letters across the screen. Congrats. That's basically just telling the shooter they won. ******* CNN.
