It lets them basically control how much power the tires get to prevent it getting stuck or just spinning on sand/snow/whatever. Typically in more Jeep type vehicles tho, AWD cars like Subaru WRX/STI's lack them.

Yes, thank you. I know what ******* 4 wheel drive is. I drive a 1991 Ford F150 with 4 wheel. I got 2 hi, 4 hi, and 4 low. Im not a retard. Ive just never seen a 4 wheel drive with an interior like that.

Pretty sure i acquired that info from the thread. My point was simply I have never seen the 4 wheel lever in that spot with an interior like that. Do you understand or do i have to dumb it down?
