Most paper comes from trees that are grown in farms by the paper industry to the purpose of making paper, no virgin forest is damaged, and these are the forests people are concerned about. The major causes of deforestation are the expansion of the agricultural frontier, mining, growth of livestock among others, paper consumption have very little to do with this issue, specially in the digital era we live.

It's hard to take Prez-chan serious. I'm imagining her making these lewd "Wood" innuendos in every line of informative information you spew. You should move to using homer.

Tsuda's tree is standing strong and true unabated by the paper industry.
#16 to #3 - hurzg (06/28/2014) [-]
True, but also those farms consists only one type of tree in a large area with determined distances. That damages the ecology in that area. These problems are hard to fix, that's why we are constantly trying to improve it.

Stop thumbnail abuse.

Thumbnail only matters if it's too small or annoying to see or read.

regardless, she is clearly supporting save the trees and by definition "save the trees" would mean every tree including the farmed ones.
User avatar #38 to #34 - schwerdaddy (06/28/2014) [-]
I'm all for stopping animal abuse and poaching, but that doesn't mean I think farmers shouldn't slaughter animals.

"MOST" and even so, consider that the thousands of paper could have been for other use also, other than the using it to cry out "Save trees." More effective ways to help would just be saving paper (recycled paper, other paper alternatives)

The idea is that by bringing conscientiousness over the subject people will start avoiding the behavior that actually contribute to the deforestation, making the use of some paper meaningless next to changes it brings. Not saying it is the best method to do this, but it's also far away from being the pure idiocy the pic make it sound like.
User avatar #11 to #10 - xxReaper (06/28/2014) [-]
Yeah, but there's always another way to do things, this is just easier but also a little contradictory, not to the extent of the comic makes it of course.

He's right, you know.
Most endangered trees get cut for fancy furniture and housing, while paper is very cheap to produce and comes in pretty much unlimited quantities because of bamboo (that stuff grows fast as hell).

Does anybody actually do this?

Or are you just creating a false idol to destroy to make yourself feel better.
User avatar #30 to #18 - instalation (06/28/2014) [-]
Nobody actually does this. Retards just like to draw this same thing over and over again to feel important.
User avatar #37 to #30 - darthblam (06/28/2014) [-]
Upon googling "save the trees protests" and looking at pictures I can respectfully disagree, there are plenty of people that do this.
User avatar #44 to #37 - instalation (06/28/2014) [-]
Upon googling, I didn't find anyone with 50 copies of the original message. Yes, they are using paper. But the comic depicts someone making 50 copies of a small, what appears to be letter sized, paper. The pictures show bigger signs.

But I feel like you are technically correct.

yeah but if we use up that reserve, they'll cut down others

She's also dumb like my mom.

And that's why I found this humorous.

honestly its the same reason the ASPCA spends millions a year making comercials instead of using the money to help animals. gotta kill one tree for the paper to save 1,000 other trees.
User avatar #41 to #35 - playerdous (06/28/2014) [-]
Don't they kill a **** ton of animals.
User avatar #43 to #41 - thebaseballexpert (06/28/2014) [-]
maybe, I really havent a clue. I know theyd rather adopt them out than kill them, but a lot of animals are too old or sick to be adopted so they have to put them down

Trees no longer need saving, the US is actually planting more trees than it consumes right now. We should continue at the same rate, but these people can bitch about something else right now. I'm not giving any sources, I'm too lazy to find where I read that, if you're curious you can google or call BS idc
User avatar #6 to #5 - JNS (06/28/2014) [-]
I'm calling "idc"
#9 to #5 - anon (06/28/2014) [-]
It is a bit oversimpliefied. Most people, that is my guess, want to save rarer woods (teak, etc.) that are still being cut down relentlessly around the world
User avatar #12 to #9 - demigodofmadness (06/28/2014) [-]
Why? Who gives a **** if a tree goes extinct?
#22 to #12 - anon (06/28/2014) [-]
Me. What you gonna do internet faggot? Just because you don't mind living on a ****** planet doesn't mean that people less braindead than you don't. You don't deserve a real answer because you are actually ranked lower than your own **** from last week. Your original post shows that you are less capable of grasping an understanding about the world than a 5 year old. Go eat a rotting dick.

BTW I'm in no way a nature freak but that kind of attitude grinds my gears to the max. Faggot.
User avatar #31 to #22 - demigodofmadness (06/28/2014) [-]
It's a ******* tree dude, losing a type of tree doesn't even matter, it's not going to destroy the planet or ruin the environment.
User avatar #17 to #12 - toosexyforyou (06/28/2014) [-]
Ninjaroo gave you a pretty **** answer so i'm gonna be real with you, it's no one. Everybody who gives a **** about that tree will be able to plant enough of it wherever they want, it won't go extinct.
User avatar #19 to #17 - ninjaroo (06/28/2014) [-]
