He did, in fact, miss the point. But as we can see from all these thumbs, the 'white pride' folk have arrived. Also the 'all cops are good guys' and of course the 'we're tired about hearing about blacks' crowd.
I don't know how you managed it, but you got a smaller, more pixelated version with extra black space to the right. Here's an original copy for your records.
"I'm going on Funnyjunk to interact with the community, get something out of it"
"Oh? What are you hoping they can do for you?"
"I'm not sure fam, I just want them to **** my **** up"
to be fair, i think what he means is that even though people bring up the fact that blacks make 13 percent of the populaation but make up over 50% of prison population, most of the blacks arresteed and in prison are due to nonviolent drug charges. not necessarily innocent, but nothing worth felony sentences
When really it's the 'white pride conservatives' who need more of them in jail. Got a whole lot of brothers in jail for smoking pot, whole lot of white folk walkin' free doing the hard stuff and endangering lives.
Not all police officers and corrupt racists, but some are...
Michael T. Slager dropping his taser on the corpse of Walter Scott after shooting his twice in the back. Scott ran away from him because he had an outstanding warrant for not paying child support. Slager, not knowing a man recorded the entire incident, claimed that the unarmed Scott attacked him and grabber his taser forcing him to use lethal force.
He never said that some aren't. However, he also stated that if everybody does what they're supposed to, a lot of this could be avoided. While it was unnecessary to shoot him, why would you run? It's poor judgment on both parties. They both did exactly what he said you shouldn't do.
Don't chalk MURDER up to 'poor judgement'. It was straight up racist, hateful murder. And the cops protect each other from the blowback of actions like this. You can't even defend your own life from a cop without being in even more **** . Life > law. Survival is everything.
This cop, which is in m home state was immediately charged and convicted so nothing can be said about it. However sad and wrong this was justice was served.
That's not true at all. He has been indicted but the trial isn't scheduled until October 31st of this year, I'm certain he'll be convicted but it hasn't happened yet. He is currently out on a $500,000 bond as of the 4th of this month.
Even if when he is convicted, it's still apparent that he and his partner were willing to engage in a conspiracy to cover up what actually happened. Whether racism is part of it or not, there's still clearly a systemic problem in the police force that needs to be addressed. Police officers have a responsibility to uphold the law, not subvert it. We're lucky we got footage of this one but frankly we don't know how many other incidents like this have occurred.
Charleston is my hometown, there is still plenty left to be said.
Thank god someone understands that there is also corrupt racists too. Its just as the same way, just like not every cop is bad that doesn't mean every cop is also good.
In my home town of Cottondale, lil podunk of a town that's a grand total of 1 mile across, we have some of the most corrupt cops I've ever met. They handle and sell the drugs, which if they don't like the person, they will then bust them for a few hours later. They will literally pull over anyone with a out-of-tri state area tag(Georgia, Alabama, Florida) just to harass them. Planting evidence, fraud, blackmail, etc.
I'm not saying every cop is bad, but I've not had good experience with small town cops. That being said, they were cleaned up and there was a mass arrest last I heard and the entire staff's been replaced. I heard they tried to setup a judge or some **** (lol). But yeah, Crooked cops are the worst due to the fact that there's no one to hold them responsible except themselves.
Why do we have to respect jack booted idiots who only graduated high school...
They should just do their jobs
We don't live in occupied territory you asshole
This is completely true, but people should also not take this scenario as evidence that racism does not exist in the police force, it does, but it doesn't help to be prejudiced. A black person shouldn't automatically look at a cop as a racist who's out to get them, and a cop shouldn't automatically look at a black person as suspicious and a criminal.
If we left behind stereotypes and prejudices and simply judged everyone based on their actions and purely the information in front of them most of these problems would be solved.
'White pride' folk and 'police aggression' deniers will use this as evidence against any claim, no matter how much evidence exists. Because it sounds like it can be used to suit their needs.
Meanwhile we've got a lot of bodies piling up more and more over the years for people who didn't deserve to die, and the cops are being protected by other cops and their precincts. A lot of it completely unnecessary and the only way the situation makes sense is if it was hatefully motivated. Since in most cases they won't know the victim, that can only leave something that can be quickly identified by the murderous cop - skin color thus usually being the chief reason.
People are already kinda saying this but I'll throw my wording in.
I'd wager a majority of cops are good cops that get into law enforcement because they genuinely do want to help the public be a safer place, its a potentially dangerous and often thankless job so its not like people do it for fun. That being said, legitimately racist or corrupt people who get off on exerting power over people can also join the police to do so. I think that's an important distinction: being a policeman doesn't make someone into a bad person; bad people may become policemen to give themselves authority to do awful things.
Bad person wants license to kill? He can either go into the military and wait for a war, completely changing his life and becoming indoctrinated as he ceases to live for himself but his country - not optimal.
Or they can become a cop. Which works because last I've seen, if you have an IQ over a certain amount, the cops won't take you. Also less oversight, and your fellows will cover up the **** you do and protect your life from any righteous backlash such as an angry family member of the wrongfully murdered coming for revenge.
I agree with you. I would also like to add that just like there can be policemen who are racist to black people, there can also be policemen who are racist to white people. It's not one sided.
The one thing I would throw in there, is that when "good cops" stand shoulder to shoulder with bad cops and protect them, even by staying silent, they are no longer good cops.
Hear hear. The cops in my family have always been ostracized for not 'playing the game'. My uncle was nearly killed by five of his fellow officers shortly after I left his house as a kid, broke in with masks and tried to shoot him. He killed one and dropped another, the other three booked it, and he easily identified the two men on his floor he worked with for years.
5-1 scenario, in my personal experiences that tells me that maybe, just MAYBE there's not as many good cops as we'd like to believe, and that they few honestly need our help while we do something about the corrupt sonsuvabitches who are above the law and above the ability of the public to punish, while having full authority to arrest and kill any of us for any reason they make up on the report.
Yo, I wasn't saying you're wrong, just adding more info to answer the original question. Plus, your use of 'usually' is pretty subjective - dunno where you live, but I live in a metropolitan area and my 'usual' medians are all turning lanes like the one I showed, not grassy areas.

You know what'd be fun. If people of color would record any interactions with police officers, and made a comp of all the good interactions and bad interactions split into four comps.
Excuse you? Racism isn't a problem? You're either white and privileged, or a minority and LUCKY. That is the dumbest **** I ever heard, and I argue with SJWs for fun.
I just happened to be watching this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=643IifUOBxo when I saw this post (Due to a previous post I saw about a crazy ex trying to run a guy over) and I thought it might be relevant if you see the police officer's reaction when they come on site and see the black man holding another person at gunpoint.
