Black Ops 1&2 were not disappointing.

I liked Black Ops 1 more than the second. The only thing that really killed BO2 for me was how they broke down almost every perk and attachment into mediocre "balanced" pieces.
User avatar #50 to #49 - toncheky (02/28/2014) [-]
Black Ops 1 was probably the best COD, along with COD 4. Black Ops 2 was a lot of fun, I loved it, but BO1 holds the number 1 place on my list.
Both were pretty balanced. Pick 10 system in BO2 is perfect.

I don't consider myself a Call of Duty fan. I liked Modern Warfare 1, 2 and Black Ops, but I'm not very interested in keeping up to date with every new release.
Having said that, they are actually very good games. I played Medal of Honor recently (the 2010 one) and the whole game just bored me.
I kept thinking that I was playing an introductory sequence or something, because nothing engaging was happening whatsoever. Then I realised that this was actually how the game was, and so I stopped playing.
For all the gripes people have with CoD nowadays, they really did know how to write an exciting storyline.

Modern Warfare 1 and 2's stories were great. Black ops was alright. Multiplayer wise, black ops was just more fun. But Ghosts, while lacking In the single player, made some awesome improvement in movement. The hurdling (and being able to shoot, inaccurately, while doing so) and the sliding (something I loved in GR:Future Soldier) are really fun and add an impressive addition to the fast paced movement that CoD is known for. If they had took more time on the single player and maybe had a little better map design, it would be a great game.

Everyone seems to love BF4 now, but I cant stand the fact that i get caught on 4 inch ledges that I could walk over in real life, but manage to be near impassible until you can manage to jump over them in game. I guess Frostbite 2 sacrificed basic movement for more destructible environments. I hope the SW: Battlefront reboot doesn't have the same **** .

To be honest, while people rag on CoD, I don't mind it. I mean I'm cheap, and wouldn't buy it myself, but if someone like in my family or something got me it, I would play it. Its a good time killer, and I find it easy so its fun
User avatar #2 to #1 - garfvader (02/27/2014) [-]
It is a fun game, tho it is worse that BO2 but only in competitive terms, Ilost league play and it breaks my heart but most people that rag don't seem to see that they are not supposed to play CoD forever and each new cod is attracting new people that have never played it before that think it is the best game ever, like our first cod.
User avatar #3 to #2 - phanact (02/27/2014) [-]
I haven't played CoD since uh... probably black ops 1. Or maybe the one after that
#5 to #3 - anon (02/28/2014) [-]
Don't buy BO2, they ****** the zombie story-line to oblivion
User avatar #6 to #5 - fightforfate (02/28/2014) [-]
you care about the story?
wow.
BO2 is the best COD games in a while
User avatar #35 to #6 - garfvader (02/28/2014) [-]
League play was the ******* tits
User avatar #7 to #6 - anonslayer (02/28/2014) [-]
BO2 was my favorite for ******* around with friends and actually kept my interests. I have played ghosts under 2 hours no tincluding campaign, the only reason im contemplating buying the next one is because of the new company
User avatar #8 to #7 - fightforfate (02/28/2014) [-]
the campaign in BO2 was great

I loved the ghosts campaign until the end cutscene

waste of money and space on my gameshelf. Worst game buy I have ever made
User avatar #12 to #11 - fightforfate (02/28/2014) [-]
wow
the biggest waste of money i've spent was paying 60 bucks for dead island
User avatar #13 to #12 - anonslayer (02/28/2014) [-]
I did buy the dead space 3 DLC so that may count
User avatar #4 to #3 - garfvader (02/27/2014) [-]
If anything you should pick up black ops 2 for the league play, some of the most competitive matches you can play unless you want to take like an hour setting up a match on GB
User avatar #22 to #1 - tarekmig (02/28/2014) [-]
Oh wow, This is the first time I agree with you.
User avatar #26 to #1 - fideldevinci (02/28/2014) [-]
I agree, but to be honest, I had higher expectations for it. Think of how much money they get for those games and they just pump out decent ones every 2 years. Great time killer, not a great game.

I generally think CoD is an okay game, some of the gameplay mechanics could use some work, but it's not bad when you're just playing around with some friends. Really what bothers me about CoD is that there seems to be a high population of whiny assholes (young and old alike, but mostly 12 year olds) that believe they are hot **** because they can pull big killstreaks and no-scope. I mean it's one thing to be proud of your achievement, but I've had people literally scream and curse at me when I say "chill, its just a game". Generally I just prefer battlefield because it's more realistic, and Halo because it's more fun and laid back.

Call of Duty 1 was pretty awesome

That was my childhood game, despite it being a rooty-tooty German-shooty game

I thought Ghosts was pretty good. BO2 was also pretty cool. Battlefield is still better though.

I still play:

cod1
cod2
cod4

don't think I ever enjoyed one of the games after mw2.

I like Bo2, its not innovative or anything but its really fun.
User avatar #38 to #29 - trailoftears (02/28/2014) [-]
Agreed. 1+2 were fun and 4 was innovative. Hell if i know why they had to do that same **** 20 times after that. Every CoD after that just feels like a palette swap and DLC-levels of new content...
User avatar #15 - jewsburninindaoven (02/28/2014) [-]
The next one will be treyarch. Treyarch is so much better and I cannot wait
#19 to #15 - anon (02/28/2014) [-]
the next one is actually sledgehammer, there are 3 companies making cod now.
User avatar #20 to #19 - jewsburninindaoven (02/28/2014) [-]
God damn it, I must start an uprising now. They give ****** ass infinityward like 5 call of duty games to make and they only give treyarch 3 (one was a remake of an inifinityward one so it doesn't really count) when theirs were the highest selling and the best. Activision should go kill themselves
#28 to #20 - krizzzzz (02/28/2014) [-]
infinityward made the best games (mw1 and 2) after that everything went to hell
#53 to #28 - justalie **User deleted account** (02/28/2014) [-]
I agree and disagree because mw3 and mw2 are my favorite cod games but now cod ghosts should be burnt and we should shoot all the mother ******* that thought of the multiplayer for it because it is horrible.
#54 to #53 - krizzzzz (02/28/2014) [-]
i rly didnt think mw3 was a great game think it was to "noob friendly"
#55 to #54 - justalie **User deleted account** (02/28/2014) [-]
I'm just going to put it out there that i play on ps3 and if anyone else here plays ps3 then they will know that ps3 is much harder than xbox when it comes to cod games and i only play snd and 2v2 or 3v3 i dont play big games because of the noobs. But in all reality i have both psn and xbox live and i have the same cod games for both (have friends that play on different systems) and playing on ps3 you have less hard ass kids and everyone on ps3 actually talks to each other respectfully.

Infinityward actually knows how to make a campaign all treyarch has is zombies.
#27 to #21 - asdffes (02/28/2014) [-]
this mini debate is Intersting. I have never seen anyone claim that Tryarch was the better studio over Infinity ward.

I also havent played Cod since the first modern warfare so i may just be out of the loop.
User avatar #34 to #27 - garfvader (02/28/2014) [-]
Yea you are out of the loop now a days the majority feel trayarch do a better job
User avatar #37 to #21 - jewsburninindaoven (02/28/2014) [-]
Zombies are 1000 times better and the storylines are unique and original or at least more so than any Infinity Ward campaign. But the multiplayer and zombies are the best parts of the game as it allows for repetition more than a campaign.
#52 to #37 - justalie **User deleted account** (02/28/2014) [-]
Oh and the only thing i like about treyarch is their easter eggs because they do alot of them and they also make a lot of dlc's which is nice for when you get bored.
#51 to #37 - justalie **User deleted account** (02/28/2014) [-]
Repetition gets real boring real fast. I am first prestige on all cod games (except mw2 ans waw because of max prestige hacks that i was given) and i think even getting to lvl 80, 55, 70, or what ever else you have to get to in order to prestige is boring and just makes multiplayer bad because you lose all of your stuff and have to regain it. The only reason i play %Treyarch cod games it for the achievements so that i can say i have played and beat it 100%

User avatar #44 - Crusader (02/28/2014) [-]
I have to say, I agree with the ragers.

Ghosts just didn't cut it this year. All the other ones were played for a few months at least, straight out of the gate people knew that Ghosts just didn't get it's **** together.

They could have had something really good, but they decided to try and change a lot of **** .
Most notably, removal of prestiging, and making it so you had to play for a half hour to get level up and get enough coins to unlock anything.
User avatar #47 to #44 - garfvader (02/28/2014) [-]
Prestiging is still there it just isn't conventional and to get the unlock tokens, that really isn't hard you get around 10 every game, but the real thing that killed ghosts for a lot of people is the fact you don't need to rank up to get you'r fav gun or perk you can make your fav class at level ******* 5 and never change it, they killed the replay value.
If you want it to be fun play clan vs clan it gives an objective to aim for in the game

They tried to innovate too much in the wrong places.
#16 - anon (02/28/2014) [-]
What happened to the good ol days of call of duty 2: big red one and call of duty 3? Those will always be my favorite call of duty's. In my opinion, cod started sucking right after mw2 got hackers.
User avatar #32 to #16 - garfvader (02/28/2014) [-]
Listen, it's all about age prospective, you enjoyed the game say when you were 15 and you played 3 so 15 16 and 17 years old, you then begin to like different things like every other human so you move on letting another starry eyed 15 year old re start the process with the next Cod
