Hugh Glass (c. 1780–1833) After returning to his work as a trapper, he was employed as a hunter for the garrison at Fort Union. He was killed with two fellow trappers in the winter of 1833 on the Yellowstone River in an attack by the Arikara.

Reinhold Messner (born 17 September 1944)

He is renowned for making the first solo ascent of Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen and for being the first climber to ascend all fourteen "eight-thousanders" (peaks over 8,000 metres (26,000 ft) above sea level). He is the author of at least 63 books, many of which have been translated into other languages.

Probably one of the most interesting fellows in this comp.

As part of the British Expeditionary Force to France, in May 1940 Churchill and his unit, the Manchester Regiment, ambushed a German patrol near L'Épinette (near Richebourg), France. Churchill gave the signal to attack by cutting down the enemy Feldwebel (sergeant) with a barbed arrow, becoming the only British soldier known to have felled an enemy with a longbow in WWII.

This reminded me of Forrest Gump, ya know, the scene in Vietnam where Forrest single-handedly carries his entire platoon out of the jungle. No? Just me? Ok.

Some trees (dead, rotten ones) can be knocked down by simply kicking them hard.

Takes ~20 seconds.

In July 1976, Tureaud's platoon sergeant punished him by giving him the detail of chopping down trees during training camp at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, but did not tell him how many trees, so Tureaud single-handedly chopped down over seventy trees from 6:30 am to 10:00 am, until a shocked major superseded the sergeant's orders.

its VERY easy to chop down trees should only take 2-5 min depending on the size of the tree (the 5 min tree is "hug" sized) if you are good with an axe it should only take about 10 strikes to fell the tree....

the long parts are limbing and sectioning the trees, which he did not have to do....
really 70 trees is 3 min per tree... which is very reasonable if he is in a forest with smaller trees.

well, actually this video is only 2 minutes long and it depends on the size of the trees too so it's quite possible, you just gotta keep the axe sharp and fresh wood is easier to chop vs dried too.
a few of my friends could chop trees that size in 3 hits because they only would need to be half way or a little further in to push the rest over manually as well, the more skill you have the easier it gets as well.

A tree fell down on my family's property and I spent the summer clearing it away. It took me a while to figure out this technique but it really does help. Had never thought of looking up a video to help.
