He was once smashed into a puddle of mush by Hulk and regenerated after a few minutes then proceeded to kill Hulk.

Well he can't die, after Thanos found out Death loved Deadpool, Thanos used his powers ( I don't remember if he used the infinity gauntlet to do it) to make Deadpool immortal.
User avatar #77 to #64 - scooba (07/27/2014) [-]
It was waaay after the Infinity Gauntlet. I believe Thanos has this ability because he is the avatar of death.

There was a Deadpool series where he kills everyone in the Marvel universe. It was probably from that. Sorry, though, I'm not too familiar with Marvel comics to give you a name.

What? I was criticizing modern deadpool for not having any of his tragic side, and just being "LOL SO RANDUMB". It's up to whoever is writing it at the time to say how balanced the comedy and tragedy sides are, but if you don't have some of both, it isn't deadpool.
User avatar #53 to #52 - garymotherfingoak ONLINE (07/27/2014) [-]
guess i partially misread then.

i thought you were saying it's **** because of the dark backstory.
User avatar #7 to #5 - Shramin (07/26/2014) [-]
The activision game was fine, I am not sure if you could have a purely deadpool focused game with all the serious parts.

Add that the comics tend to have him go in and out of serious to joke it can be hard to keep track of sometimes.
#8 to #5 - comradewinter (07/26/2014) [-]
Nah. There can be a dark story behind everything, and a comical part. The original Batman animated series wasn't dark in the slighest, but was still entertaining. Deadpool is known to be ridiculous, so that's what they made. Having a mix of both tragedy and humor rarely works for video games.
User avatar #43 to #8 - kinginyellow (07/27/2014) [-]
Wait which one? Because Batman: The Animated Series went a little into the darker stuff with Riddler and Clayface. I'm sad they didn't have Scarecrow's origin in there though, and not even in the Batman Begins movie.
#49 to #43 - comradewinter (07/27/2014) [-]
The one that goes nanananananaanan Batman! Not that I ever watched all the episodes, but the show was too goofy to be taken serious.
User avatar #50 to #49 - kinginyellow (07/27/2014) [-]
Oh I know what you mean, the mix of animation and Adam West, ugh.
#68 to #43 - selfdenyingbeggar (07/27/2014) [-]
what is Scarecrows origin?
User avatar #69 to #68 - kinginyellow (07/27/2014) [-]
Well the main-ish one is that he was bullied throughout his life until a humiliation by a popular cheerleader pushed him over the edge and he went to the school prom wearing the first Scarecrow costume and pulled a gun on the students, causing a car crash where the cheerleader was killed and her jock boyfriend was paralyzed. This moved into a deep obsession with fear that drove him to become a professor at Gotham University and conducting experiments at Arkham as a psychiatrist, only to be fired for firing off a gun in the classroom and wounding a student. From there he killed the superiors that fired him and went full-on Scarecrow, weaponizing his fear gas.
User avatar #37 to #8 - theavatarspupil (07/27/2014) [-]
I think it could work. It could totally work in a movie though. But, I feel like they would try and go the ****** game's way of portraying him as just an ass who does nothing but crack jokes. In fact, he really didn't do stuff like that much in the comics anyway. Mostly, they just portray him as having a really good sense of humor, but that's basically it.
#40 to #37 - comradewinter (07/27/2014) [-]
I don't read much Deadpool, but I read a few of the comics and the game seemed pretty spot on. There was one when he tried to explain cell phones to a vampire, and kept saying they were primarily used to send nude pics, and asking her to put it to the test. There were a lot of other jokes too. But no dark storyline whatsoever.
User avatar #41 to #40 - theavatarspupil (07/27/2014) [-]
What series was it from? Because that definately doesn't sound like anything from the main series run of Deadpool. That sounds like some "Deadpool Corps." crap.
#42 to #41 - comradewinter (07/27/2014) [-]
That particular one was a side-series. I read some of the main series too, of course. But it didn't feel very different.

One question from someone who really does not read any comics and anything:

If Deadpool can regenerate so fast and easily, why the wounds on his head and face won't never heal?
User avatar #22 to #18 - seelcudoom (07/27/2014) [-]
its cancer, he is immortal but so is his cancer, so he is in constant pain

not exactly 100% on my deadpool lore but pretty sure he mentions it at some point, obviously hes a bit desensitized after years of being in constant pain but it still probably is not pleasant for him

They aren't wounds, theyre sorta like tumours I think, it's scar tissue basically that were created by his cancer, the healing factor he got to try and cure his cancer ended up giving his cancer cells the same healing factor so they kept multiplying and healing scarring his whole body
Dont hold me to this, I think it's roughly correct but I'm not sure

The tumors on his body keep regenerating and multiplying, its why he generally wears the suit, it actually keeps the tumors contained so its not all spastic. He's in constant pain which is why hes so crazy.

someone explain to me why he looks like that and how he got that healing power
#10 to #9 - marikthegunslinger (07/27/2014) [-]
Wade was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent a procedure that gave him Wolverine's healing factor, but to a ridiculous degree. It was either A) the procedure that gave him the horrendous scars, or B) the cancer spread throughout his body without killing him. I can't remember which. Anyway, the procedure also gave him his crazy agility and skills, and also drove him incurably insane. He seems to think he's in a comic book or something.

I could have gotten this partially wrong, though.
#13 to #10 - houseofwolf (07/27/2014) [-]
Ok, this is how I think it goes:

The surgery that gave Wade Wolverine's healing factor was definitely out of proportion. The surgery worked so well, that it mutated not only Wade's genes, but also the cancer cells in his body. The mutated cancer cells and the hyper regenerative cells constantly clashed with one another, which caused massive scar-like tissue to form.
User avatar #12 to #10 - spartanapex (07/27/2014) [-]
Pretty good explanation. One thing, though: the healing factor was supposed to cure his cancer. However, it also gave his cancer the healing factor, and that is why he looks hideously ugly.
#14 to #12 - draikon (07/27/2014) [-]
and the reason he is so nuts is because the cells are constantly killing the braincells and then his healing factor, heals the damage again. If i recall.

also why he often loses his train of thought
#16 to #10 - John Cena (07/27/2014) [-]
You're mostly correct, except there was a lengthy story ark that explains how he already was a hit man who would assume new identities after each mission. After one said mission he came upon a couple living in the Canadian wilderness whilst injured and delirious. He then attempted to stage the husbands death in a house fire (thus scarring himself and the husband) and assume the husbands identity and settle down. Whelp the missus came home early and he ended up accidentally killing her too, which was the last straw for his psyche. So he just sort of snapped, in fact, the husband actually survived and went on to become his main rival for like the first 30 issues. So after that mess-up he wound up at the Canadian super soldier program after discovering he had stage 4 skin cancer. Yes they tried to give him the healing factor but it went awry and horribly disfigured him. It actually took his heart getting ripped out after by the "jailer" of the place for the healing factor to kick in.
User avatar #99 to #10 - phyrex (07/27/2014) [-]
he had skin cancer and was going to die from it so he did the project x thing because screw it hes going to die anyway and it worked and he got wolverines healing factor to the UNTH degree however it also sent his skin cancer into overdrive and the constant pain kinda made him go even more bonkers
User avatar #98 to #10 - sciencexplain (07/27/2014) [-]
Are you sure about the comic book part? I know there was one Marvel comic book series where he realized he was in a comic book and he killed off the Avengers to release them from their entrapment in the comic book, but I didn't know of that last part.
#87 to #10 - John Cena (07/27/2014) [-]
I vaguely remember something about it being brain cancer, and the healing he got from project X experiementation essentially controlled the tumour's growth, leaving him with this mass pressing on parts of his brain causing the disjoint from reality. He occasionally has lucid periods because the tumour grows before the healing kicks in and shrinks it again.
Just what I remember hearing though
User avatar #34 to #10 - camslayer (07/27/2014) [-]
The skills and **** was just him, he only got the healing factor and it was the cancer.

Is there a reason why even though he's got this crazy regeneration power he can't fix his scars?
User avatar #47 to #44 - wheretheheartroams (07/27/2014) [-]
i think is has to do with his cancer cells, they'd just regenerate like his regular cells, but spread obviously like we see in the pic. i could be wrong but i think that was the reason i read somewhere
User avatar #45 to #44 - trollypollyz (07/27/2014) [-]
He had the cancer before he got his powers. When he was given the regenerative powers, the cancer cells also got it, so he pretty much has invincible cancer in an invincible body....

He's a mercenary. In the comic world, this is referred to as "chaotic neutral": he literally just does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, for any reason at all. He could save a puppy on one page and shoot the irresponsible owner with a 12-gauge on the next, because that's just how he rolls.
