No one to date could recreate his species' adaptive capabilities let alone a member of his species in it's entirety, if he is the last of a sexually reproducing species, he would still have no way of creating another of his kind.

Prolonging and creating a new artificial system would upset the equilibrium he speaks of. Its why he kills the man. Its my outlook on it though. I could be wrong.

I get the comic, and I like it, I think it's good that people are applying philosophical ideas to entertaining artwork, it just seems like sort of a destructive message to send. I mean, if you generally appreciate mankind and what mankind has created, that is. Otherwise, sure, go full on Zen, enter the Tao, spit out the Apple, all that **** .
