I like this but if he has superior intelligence, why doesn't he think about recreating his race? Fixing his desolate planet or colonizing a new one?

No one to date could recreate his species' adaptive capabilities let alone a member of his species in it's entirety, if he is the last of a sexually reproducing species, he would still have no way of creating another of his kind.

No one to date could recreate his species' adaptive capabilities. Cloning still works.

yes but he surpassed the greatest mind in the universe. I'm sure he could have figured a way to solve almost any problem he came to face with.

You can think of it as him realising that the right thing to do is letting nature follow its course, but I guess it's up to interpretation in some ways.

Perhaps he wished to keep the equilibrium stable by remaining within the laws of nature. He most likely understood that his species was meant to die. Prolonging and creating a new artificial system would upset the equilibrium he speaks of. Its why he kills the man. Its my outlook on it though. I could be wrong.

Makes me think of the Krogans. A dying race that sells themselves out as mercenaries.

Apathy is a helluva drug.

the possibilities are endless
with those adaptive abilities he could just figure out the way to turn itself into an assexual being, manipulate his gene code , and have several babies with different genes
and badabing badabam his species is back

My question is, why does he return to being a thoughtless animal? Not so much his decision, but why does killing the man undo the change made to him? Did he reverse the effects himself?
#20 to #18 - anon (10/27/2015) [-]
What use is superintelligence to a being the last of its kind? Like he said, the future is just endless solitude for him, might as well live it out in hapiness
User avatar #26 to #18 - ronyx (10/27/2015) [-]
He does not wish to be immensely intelligent because it goes against his essence.
User avatar #19 to #18 - killjoyus (10/27/2015) [-]
well he did it himself, if he can be telepathic enough to see clearly the possible futures, then dumbing himself down is easy.
User avatar #29 - leonhardt (10/27/2015) [-]
>blah blah endless solitude is bad
>Talking to a ************ that gave him ******* god-tier psychic powers in like 5 seconds.
>Thinking that this same ************ can't ******* clone his ass or bring his race back from extinction so no blah blah endless solitude

Apparently Logic and Reason is the enemy of creative thinking.

>Man be animal.
>Man gains reason.
>Man become "Man".
>Man rejects reason.
>Man become animal.

I get the comic, and I like it, I think it's good that people are applying philosophical ideas to entertaining artwork, it just seems like sort of a destructive message to send. I mean, if you generally appreciate mankind and what mankind has created, that is. Otherwise, sure, go full on Zen, enter the Tao, spit out the Apple, all that **** .
