yea, i was reading on reddit and the owner said he got some generic comment about dark souls ui being used but there is nothing in the video, and he hasnt gotten any more info about it. Its an odd situation and really a shame for such a great video
Doesn't matter what kind of music you use as long as it fits the video. Music videos and editing like this are all about artistic interpretation. I think his video was really well done.
Having a higher toned pitch for music as a sharp contrast against a bleak video is a commonly done tactic to highlight the struggle of the characters involved. It's supposed to be contrasting, yet fitting, in a tone that suggests that the bleakness could be changed. Try being a little less judgmental and a little more open to artistic expression.
For me personally, singers like that just aren't my thing, and I usually don't view content that would have that kind of music anyway. Using it on a game as dark and medieval as Dark Souls is straight up silly.
This covers a lot of my wants. I've been waiting for a game/movie/book that sends a modern army back in time to wreck **** with the templars. Imagine having a game engine like Arma 3 (a not broken one) with you in a battalion holding an outpost against an army of charging armored knights. Or the battle of Helms Deep with tanks and artillery.
Somewhat relatedly; there was serious talk of a movie called Rome Sweet Rome in which a battallion of US Marines get sent back in time and have to fight the Roman Empire in its glory days.
If you aren't allergic to weaboo **** , check out Gate Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Takeri, it's about a portal that opens in Japan and connects it to fantasy world. Then they proceed to shot at Roman empire style overlords and dragons and **** . That being said, it's gotta harem and typical weaboo stuff, so it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but you might like it. It's getting an adaptation next month too
