Thanks for taking care of the raiders bothering that settlement.
Now I've got something a bit different for you..
One of our settlements has been reporting trouble with raiders.
I have a lot of problems with Fallout 4. But at the end of the day I forgive them because I still enjoyed the game so much and it's just fun and I like Fallout. I try not to complain too much about games I played as much as I played this one. But Preston Garvey is almost unforgiveable. In the last ten years, few characters have been as poorly written an voice acted as he. I can't talk to him and hear his voice without thinking about the black guy with the long neck from the EB games Call of Duty commercial. They are both equally awkward and out of place.
"hey you know those ghouls who lay motionlessly until you get near them? Well they hopped up and trucked across the map and attacked us, then left and went back there"
Still don't get how a settlement full of armed, armored people with heavy turrets and missile launchers could be "bothered" by anything. Much less let those things "bother" them then let them escape, but still know where they come from.
Yeah, that's complete ******** . It would've made more sense for settlements with high enough defense to just never need help. Or maybe mention that the troubles happen to people from the settlement who go out to scavenge or traders trying to get there are being bothered by raiders/ghouls/etc.
I think the problem stems from the fact that you have to show up to "help" because the engine would **** and die if it tried to calculate defense of a settlement vs. the offence of an attacking party and render the odds of a win/lose for a different battle across the map while you are doing something else.
That said, rolling a simple win/lose based on defense would be better than the game rolling an instant lose any time you don't show up in time to help.
Yeah, that's just retarded. To be perfectly honest I don't even bother much with the settlements. But it's still annoying when a settlement "needs help" and you pop in only to find a lone Super Mutant attacking. Or you just straight up can't find the raiders that are supposedly attacking the settlement and end up failing because you just say : **** it" and leave.
Ditto. But since I don't like leaving Quests unfinished I'm gonna end up helping that first settlement and then just say "lol no" when he asks me to be General.
"Hey you know that settlement that you fortified the **** out of with various turrets, solid steel walls and multiple guards all wearing polymer combat armor and equipped with laser rifles? Well there are some ghouls nearby that are being total butt holes to them."
Let me tell you guys a story that takes place about 20 minutes ago. I was going around the Commonwealth doing **** , and I decided to pop back into Sanctuary to get Dogmeat. Then this ******* settler walks up and starts to say "We need your help with-" I immediately deported him to Nordhagen Beach because I thought an attack wiped it out once and I hoped it would happen again. Then I walked down to Red Rocket later and another settler does the same thing. Nordhagen Beach.
Later I'm chilling at The Slog and I get a notification saying "The time for your objective at Red Rocket is running out." This never happened before, so I head down to Nordhagen. Then the quests "Making Way for Red Rocket" and "Greenskins: Sanctuary" immediately show up in my Pip-Boy and both say "Completed: Talk to Preston Garvey." Then they just ******* stayed there, and wouldn't leave no matter what I did. Reloaded and old save and just hoping the whole thing will blow over if I wait long enough. I visit these places daily, there shouldn't be any ******* problems.
