Loads of children are born with a full head of hair which they gradually lose and then regrow. My little sister, for example, was born in May with thick brown hair, and has since become more or less bald and is now beginning to grow it out again.

So the baby was born yesterday and is already home? Don't newborns and their mothers have to stay at the hospital for at least 2-3 days?

It varies from country to country and probably from state to state. It's recommended to stay a couple days, but it's fairly common where I'm from to leave the hospital within 24 hours. Usually they have you stay if they need to keep an eye on the mother and the child after the birth just in case, though. It's a very vulnerable child for both, you know.
