Not sure if sarcastic- but if so, I'm sure that's one of the big reasons why not. Webms rarely if ever work on mobile. FJ would probably be my go-to for websites to visit while taking a dump
soundless Webm's are like a step backward. Instead of having a gif which plays automatically and does the same thing, we now have to press play instead.
Gosh, whoever invented soundless webm's needs a smack.
in that case, webms are the new gifs. Gifs are ******* huge in filesize because their animation is actually an abuse of the original goal of the filetype. They're bastardized, so they end up being slow, bad quality, and high file size.
Imgur does the same thing with their uploaded gifs. Upload a gif there, click on the file, and you can see the gif via the url.gif page. Now add a v to the end, "url.gifv". It plays the gif as a converted webm. It actually uses the webm version by default to save bandwith.
Giphy shows the best demonstration, usually gifs are half the frame rate and are 10-25x the filesize of its equvalent webm
Webms are the future of animated browser content, and don't try to push admin into stagnating the formats on FJ.
Other issue is webm is not compatible with IOS devices (yeah screw apple people ) (but seriously none of us can watch anything, I know we are the minority but automatically takes away quite a few possible fj users)
No but seriously, that's what you get for using iOS. Proprietary OSes like iOS are prone to slow adoption of new standards, so there's absolutely nothing you can do but wait, or switch phones.
I don't think the internet will wait for apple to catch up, that's what we did with IE and that caused the web development dark ages of 2000-2007
I mean, I agree with you to a point. It is entirely Apple's fault at being slow and stubborn on these things and forcing users to lack compatibility. But even if IOS users only take up 5-10% of funnyjunk users, that could still be substantial to Admin's ad money and the sites usage. Just wish there was a way to satisfy both...
Source is an episode of "The Amazing Dr. Pol." I had a small animal science class and we watched episodes every so often, for those of you who are sad, this dog was born with malformed legs, but they were able to use the casts to straighten out his legs since a lot of it was cartilage. The dog walks just fine now.
TL;DR The casts are a good thing and the dog can walk now, even though the therapy was hard. Pic semi-related and is the best breed of dog.
This reminded me of that annoying dog they brought in as a way to keep Odd Parents alive instead of killing it, like they should with Spongebob.
I'm probably gonna get raged on by everyones tough, hard, thick red thumbs but screw it. He's not entertaining, he's just another Cosmo. I just cringe when I am force to watch Odd Parents with my Niece, and that dog comes on. It shows no reason, T.U.F.F. puppy? Why not cancel Odd just to work full time on TUFF? I've watched it a few times, and realize its on that other Nick channel that shows old Nick cartoons like The Air Bender, so thats not good when a newer than Odd Parents show is on the backburner to a really old show that is on Nicks main channel. The show ran its course, and it destroyed alot of characters. Cosmo was suppose to be a fun guy who wants to cut back, and say; **** Da Rulez book lets go inside this comic book but he realize the value of don't be a complete idiot. so at some point he is as, and sometimes more responsible than Wanda, now he's just a retard. Wanda was suppose to be the voice of reason, now she is just a nagging milf. Why not just have a full on circle jerk of a movie to just say; "Here it is people, Odd Parents the final movie." And bam. "But that one hour episode showing that Timmy wished to stay young, so it's obvious they can pull a shocker, and its a sign the show is going away pretty soon." But aint it pointless? In another episode it shows he became 30, and no longer remembers them. So **** it, there's a plot hole. Why should they bring out the fact he did that, even tho they show a long time ago he will become 30.
I'm probably over-reacting to a cartoon that is not in my age range, but this show was my childhood, and its just being gunned down.
