The act of taping ones magazines together is called "jungle style." The trend started in WWII with the M1 Carbine and Thompson submachine gun. The benefit of this method is to make reloading a weapon faster, especially for guns that have smaller capacities. For example, the Thompson had a high rate of fire but usually used 20 or 30 round magazines. This meant the gun had to be frequently reloaded. There are disadvantages to jungle taping magazines however. Because one magazine is out of the gun, it is more susceptible to collecting debris, thus increasing the odds of a jam occurring (especially with sandy and muddy environments). Another problem was that it made it easier for rounds to fall out of the exposed magazine especially if the weapon was being jostled around.

should I get a deagle brand deagle in .50 African eliminator?
User avatar #67 to #66 - weaponexplain (04/03/2014) [-]
I have 12. Personally, I think they are a good investment. If you get one, be sure to get the high capacity assault clips. This will allow you to eliminate more africans even faster. Also, be sure that your Deagle isn't a knockoff from China. A real Deagle brand Deagle is from Deagle, Israel and gets you more Deagle per Deagle than a surplus Deagle will give you.

I carry in condition ultra fabric. This means all 12 Deagles are firing bullets constantly. I've never had to draw a Deagle on anyone. I guess criminals are afraid to approach me, but for the life of me I can't figure out why.

What is the difference between a clip and a mag?
User avatar #198 to #196 - weaponexplain (04/03/2014) [-]
A magazine holds rounds and feeds them into the chamber during operation of the gun. A clip is an item used to load a magazine. Some guns have internal magazines so the gun is loaded by a clip.

I am also set for 30 years and my controller doesn't weigh 8kg. an 8kg controller isn't very functional. plus the extra heat production will probably make your hands sweaty.

We were talking about replacements for AA batteries in wireless controllers. Your household sized RTG - cool as it is - isn't relevant to that discussion. USB controllers are cool and all but not as cool as ones with active nuclear decay in the battery pack.

As soon as console gamers realize PC gaming is actually cheaper, there won't need to be any flame wars.
#161 to #142 - skiskate (04/03/2014) [-]
It's cheaper to match a consoles specs but nobody ever wants to do that. Yes you can play games in 720p at 30fps but most PC gamers want to play in 1080p at 60. Getting a PC that does that almost always costs more then a console. Because you are getting more performance then a console ever could, you are expected to pay more.

tl;dr not really
#172 to #161 - dsgbiohazard (04/03/2014) [-]
I didn't say a PC is cheaper, I said PC gaming is cheaper.

I have 162 games so far on Steam, and I've only spent a couple hundred dollars total.

Pic related: That's Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Dead Space 3 Origin Key, Medal of Honor, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising, Populous, and Sims 3 (with 2 DLC). All for $5.
#197 to #172 - skiskate (04/03/2014) [-]
PC games are cheaper but the PC itself is more expensive. A very pro-PC arguments is that the amount of money spent on games balances the cost of the system. I totally agree with this statement.

It only has games they've published on it. I don't like EA, nobody does. But I honestly don't care. It has no affect on my ability to play my games. I get my game, and I play it.

User avatar #140 to #135 - skiskate (04/03/2014) [-]
Wireless mice generally have a much higher DPI (Pointer Accuracy). One of the biggest arguments for wired mice is that they never have to be charged or have their batteries replaced. That is slightly absurd because I have a Logitech mouse that has a 2 year battery life.

The biggest reason I have a wired mouse is because I only have one working USB port in the front of my computer. If I put the receiver in the back of my computer I sometimes lose connection which can be extreamly frustrating.

Kinda like the argument for higher FPS in games, most of the time they exceed what we are even able to process. I found this particularly true for minecraft, people boasting about their FPS being over 100.

Scientifically we see an average of 26'FPS' and up to 60'FPS' when we are panicked/in danger/so on. But I can understand why something like the Oculus Rift would require 95'FPS' because the eye doesn't work like a monitor. More like a GIF. In a gif, instead of loading a whole new image each frame, it only loads what is different between the frames.

I think in 3D cinema 120FPS is the standard rate
