Since I like a girl to have at least SOME amount of boobage, I'm not conflicted in the slightest anyway.

There's a man in Japan who is the only practicing Male Geisha, he's also very popular, probably the most famous Geisha in Tokyo.
Btw, he's the one on the left. His name is Geisha Eitaro-san

i know that feel, its hard being the only gay(sha) in the village

Lol though I appreciate the joke, I really don't know what his sexual affiliation is. All I know is that he seems very content with the choices he has made (Not referring to his sexuality as being a choice, but rather his choice to become a geisha.) When he preforms and such, he always seems very happy and will often times have a big smile plastered across his face.

well there is such a thing as straight trannies so idk

Sorry, I've been studying them for about a year now, so here goes a little bit of the information I've obtained. As I said in a previous post in this thread, different countries have more blurred lines when it comes to gender. Japan is one of those countries. The original Geisha actually were men, they would entertain the customers of courtisans while they waited. It wasn't until maybe about 100 years of the profession existing that women noticed how profitable they could be doing the same thing, and so they basically took over. When the courtesans cultures began to collapse the Geisha culture continued to flurish and eventually they broke off to basically be self proficient, creating their own customs and such but there have always been times when there have been male geisha, they were just more rare to come across. He's been the only one in the past... maybe decade? I'm not sure exactly, but it's not so strange. I'm sure you've heard of Kabuki? Well, there are only male kabuki actors, they even play female roles, so much so that there are kabuki actors who specialize and only train to do those female roles. So I'm not so sure ****** is an appropriate term, just because it's a culture of blurred social norms between males and females.
Sorry for the history lesson~
TLDR: Geisha were originally Male. There's a reason Professor Oak asks if you're a boy or a girl.

yea think i remember reading somewhere about that. Also ninja costumess were stagehands for kabuki shows, not assassins, since you don't see ninjas.

Holy **** , he looks more feminine than the woman.
#133 to #126 - curbed (10/06/2013) [-]
Well, to be fair, the woman is more senior than he is and isn't in quite an elaborate costume as he is, i.e. Full face paint and makeup, also the wig (More senior Geisha don't need all that regalia). But yes he is very beautiful. Basically my point in the post is that lines between genders can be a bit more blurred depending on where you're from.
By the way, this is him when he is out of his full regalia, in more casual attire at home practicing the shamisen.
