wasn't it one of those make your own cola kinda thing?
#158 to #84 - ieatapples (08/15/2014) [-]
Nope, the real recipe.
It was tested and tasted, and it was really the real recipe
User avatar #104 to #9 - charagrin (08/14/2014) [-]
The recipe could be leaked by anyone with a basic science experiment kit, or any one of a million scientists bored in a lab at any time. I am sure someone, somewhere, took some Coke and analyzed it, even if just for fun.
#19 to #9 - umppis (08/14/2014) [-]
Don't quote me on this, but I think that the dude who found it out tried to sell it to Pepsi, who instead of buying it reported it to coca-cola and the police

Wait, you're saying that it's only America who is super paranoid about planes? I have been to many other countries, and I can confirm that in ALL of them security was just as tight. Also, It's better to be safe than sorry.

"Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither"-Some Dead Guy.

Benjamin Franklin
#114 to #63 - akkere (08/15/2014) [-]
Benjamin Franklin wrote that statement in a letter in protest to the idea of taxing lands for raising a security force against the Natives that were surrounding, not to any statement regarding an increase of police force at the sacrifice of individual liberties.

The full quote is simply -
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
franklinpapers.org/franklin/framedVolumes.jsp?vol=6&page=238a

Not only are you using the fallacy of "Dead smart guy said it so it's gold", you're actually partaking in the butchering of his words.
#150 to #114 - tomahawkkit (08/15/2014) [-]
In fine, we have the most sensible Concern for the poor distressed Inhabitants of the Frontiers. We have taken every Step in our Power, consistent with the just Rights of the Freemen of Pennsylvania, for their Relief, and we have Reason to believe, that in the Midst of their Distresses they themselves do not wish us to go farther. Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. Such as were inclined to defend themselves, but unable to purchase Arms and Ammunition, have, as we are informed, been supplied with both, as far as Arms could be procured, out of Monies given by the last Assembly for the King’s Use; and the large Supply of Money offered by this Bill, might enable the Governor to do every Thing else that should be judged necessary for their farther Security, if he shall think fit to accept it.

thats the full quote entirly coped and pasted from that link
#154 to #150 - akkere (08/15/2014) [-]
Good use of copy-paste, now you can explain how this runs in correlation with the misguided belief that more security = more liberty. Franklin never protested and even believed the interests of liberty and security were well aligned, just not in the event that taxation would cause the people to be unable to afford the means for their own personal security, especially when that taxation was governed by forces that weren't within the state itself (i.e. The Assembly).

User avatar #54 to #53 - freakyorange (08/14/2014) [-]
Personally, I've never had any problems with the TSA. If you follow their rules, they don't bother you. They normally won't make you throw away a sealed bottle of water if you ask them nicely. They're more reasonable than the media makes them out to be.

So you are saying that we live in a world where the genetic structure or chemical composition of matter can be analyzed down to base particles and elements from a photograph, but no scientist or DIY chemist has ever taken the time to find out what is in Coca-Cola from testing it?
