Or they didn't show him because its not a movie about humans
Or they needed a plot
Or they didn't think anyone would dig through their movie for clues for their irrelevant hypothesis
Or maybe he isn't introverted because he had 30 friends come to his birthday party
Or maybe he wanted a puppy

Pixar goes deep within this kind of **** , and that could be why they have huge gaps between some of their movies. They always do those kind of easter egg things (for example the witch from brave is boo from monsters inc, she has a carving of sully and the pizza planet truck)
User avatar #8 - tazzerz (02/03/2014) [-]
Or they didn't have enough money in the budget to animate him.
#79 to #8 - dontread (02/04/2014) [-]
Don't see why they just didn't have him in via voice acting.. Just a shout downstairs that he's going to work. Then just idk animate a knee at the finale. They sure animated a bunch of the kids in the party

It was ******* Disney/Pixar...i doubt money was an issue.
#11 to #9 - muffinssnuffims (02/03/2014) [-]
It was Pixar's first big hit. They actually struggled budget wise on the first toy story.
User avatar #10 to #9 - tazzerz (02/03/2014) [-]
Them animations were really damn expensive, and they were not as big as there are now back then.
User avatar #50 to #10 - anonefgthree (02/04/2014) [-]
They still are really expensive
#67 to #50 - anon (02/04/2014) [-]
no, no they're not. You could make Toy Story (Atleast the animation) at home with a nice safe month of rendering time and 3dsmax at home. Probably a year to make all the resources, a few months of animation framing, another few of post cleanup. Such simple designs and animations, once you get the characters onto their armatures rig properly it's prettymuch keyframe move keyframe move keyframe move til you got the whole animation. Rendering is the real bitch for small creators doe. And honestly you can get basic motion capture devices for affordable prices, rig up the armatures in a tweaky way to trace the movements, and just post-scene correct. ******** , in the end, bet you could make it all (animation only) for under 3000$, including the software hardware and electricity bills of running your computer xD

Now the cost to have the freetime to do it on the other hand.....

User avatar #43 - wallsbad (02/04/2014) [-]
Or maybe, just maybe, it could be that Pixar themselves said that adding a father into the animation was too complex and also unneeded for the story, and would also absorb their budget.

Or:
Dad's dead, so you don't see him.
Money issues lead to selling the house and moving into a smaller one.
Mom finally moved on and started dating again.
Same thing, but because his father passed.
They just wanted a dog?

Stop trying to find hidden meanings in kid's movies. Most of the time, you'll be wrong.

User avatar #49 to #27 - drunkasaurus (02/04/2014) [-]
So much horrible **** has happened in my family and I've never felt anything. It's really unsettling to me that I'm so emotionless. But the fact that being emotionless makes me so unsettled is making me think that I'm just a normal person with very deep-seated subconscious feelings. I figure if I was a crazy sociopath I wouldn't care about not feeling anything, or maybe I would just pretend to feel things instead. Plus I don't ever want to hurt anyone or do any bad things so I think that's what's important about someone's personality, not how much sadness they feel.
If that made any sense... Idk. I worry about **** like this a lot because I feel like I should be more sad than I am but I mostly just don't care about any thing that happens to me.
#74 to #49 - anon (02/04/2014) [-]

also, puppies are common in tons of families not just divorces. and smaller house? **** economy. as for the ring? Not very comfortable to wear those damn things 24/7
