A couple people have wanted monsters/tieflings so I ended up hunting down a bunch of Tiefling art and making them their own folder.

Unless there's overwhelming demand for a specific thing the next up is Armored People then Undead then some Aliens or Dwarves.

Also I'm sure something here isn't a tiefling or is debatable. Because hey, so far there's been something wrong in each.

4th from bottom isn't necessarily a tiefling. He's a planeswalker who was human and then became a devil because he used a spell that was a bit too much for him to use.

If anything he's an A grade asshole.
User avatar #30 to #25 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
Yeah but he looks the part, so if someone were to use him as inspiration I think all would be right in the world. At least he isn't Sorin Marvok who had sneaked his way into both elf posts.
#36 to #30 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
Aye, but still. Magic has some awesome card art that does depict those races and when push comes to shove it seems good to use those ones.
User avatar #41 to #36 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
MTG really does. They put some of their money to great use.
User avatar #59 to #25 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
He's also the worst BEST planeswalker ever.
#60 to #59 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
I knew someone who made some use of him, but I don't know how exactly. Then again this same guy made decks that made everyone win or lose all at once so nobody ever really won anything against him.
User avatar #61 to #60 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
Tibalt has no upside. He's not worth playing. If you put him in a deck then you do it as a statement. "Look at me, I play this card."
#62 to #61 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
Like I said, I don't know. Only thing I know is that I gave my Tibalt to him and he used it somehow.
User avatar #63 to #62 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
There's always the type of wanker who -want- to use cards like Tibalt or One with Nothing or Mudhole.
#64 to #63 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
This man was no wanker. The guys who wanted to win an EDH match in 3 turns with an infinite combo but bitch about someone using avacyn with worldslayer are wankers.

This man wanted to make every planeswalker useful somehow, he made decks for fun and was a real treat to play against.
User avatar #65 to #64 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
BY 'wanker' I mean person. I didn't intend it negatively. Erryone wanks. Unless you don't, in which case, good for you, you wanker.
#66 to #65 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
Well that's probably true. I mean I go out of my way to make decks that aren't the norm, such as black/white clerics. It's a fun deck, two infinite combos that take forever to get working and are easily preventable. Makes it so I can sleep at night knowing I'm not an asshole.
User avatar #67 to #66 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
As a tournament organiser, I feel obliged to remind you that competitive players who use every tool at their disposal to win a tournament are -not- assholes. They are smart players who make good gameplay decisions. There is no 'gentleman's code' for which cards not to play in tournaments. Winning is all that matters.
People who take that competitive deck to a kitchen table where no one plays on their level just so they can stomp other players are assholes.
#68 to #67 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
And I don't play competitively, I play casually with my friends. These people introduce me to others who happened to believe that a $500 deck is what you use in casual play.

I've gotten lucky against them, I've had a Tormond's crypt when I needed to shut down one and a stony silence when I needed to stop another.

Although these are the same people who didn't think that Gheist of St. Traft was a good EDH commander when I used him. Until of course he went up in price.
User avatar #69 to #68 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
Big hint, he go down real soon.
#70 to #69 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
I would expect him to get replaced for a blue/white commander. The artifact removing hexproof hurt a bit and as far as it goes he's running out of synergy options/builds.

I like him with steel of the godhead and sundial of the infinite. Then again those are the cards I had that I could throw in with him.
User avatar #71 to #70 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
The artifact sees little to no play since arcane lighthouse/archetype of thingy were printed.
Also he's gonna go down in price because he features in the next duel deck, which usually means he'll be worth about 2€, maybe 3$
#72 to #71 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
I haven't been in magic long, but I don't get the feeling he'd drop to that much. I'm going to say around $5, I also tend to be an idiot-savant with prices.

Nobody in my group expected that Sorin, Lord of Innistrad would hit around $10 or lower and that Sarkhan, Dragonspeaker would go really low.

I also said that Griselbrand and Thalia would keep good prices, much to the disbelief of this group of people who run hundred something dollar decks.
User avatar #73 to #72 - languagexplain ONLINE (01/06/2016) [-]
$5 maybe for an original geist, $3 for the new print.
#74 to #73 - halonachos (01/06/2016) [-]
I see the original definitely staying 5-6, the new print will of course be cheaper.

I just hope that when the new set comes out they don't put any of the starter deck cards in the boosters. I got a booster pack that had an Eater of Hope in it and a foil Eater of Hope in it as well.
User avatar #92 to #60 - adplum ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]

Tibalt, the ********* planeswalker, isn't actually a tiefling. He's close enough though. He was a human who fused soul with demons.
#114 - earljhickey (01/07/2016) [-]
Shoe-horning Tieflings into the playable races in 4.0 might've been fairly questionable, but nobody could argue that playing as a spell-casting sword-wielding demon guy with horns was nothing short of bad-ass.

All this talk of horny creatures though had reminded me of #69 on my list:"Derailed a DnD campaign with pointless imaginary sex".

A few months back, FunnyJunk had a dedicated group of people on the Tabletop Gaming board that would run DnD games over skype. The idea of being able roll dice and slay demons over the internet with other people sounded cool, so I ended up joining them.

My character had a high Charisma stat though, so from the get go I kept trying to sexually conquer everything in sight. It pissed the group off and derailed the campaign to the point where pretty soon every one forgot what the hell they had been doing.

I quit the group after that, and last I heard they had to start all over after the damage I caused to the story arc.

If I was gonna cross this one off my list, I'd have to try my hand at Skype DnD again, this time, as a responsible gamer.
User avatar #116 to #114 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
I'll run a game one day and if I'll likely make a post about it so sub/friend me and I'll do tryouts. Probably in the two months or so after I move out and have the space to play uninterrupted.

i actually had a tiefling npc in my campaign.

Captain Thaddius

He's got quite the story to him which I'll link here:
"So my little brother was/is desperate for me to finally draw a portrait of one of his NPCs from the last 2 year story that he DMed for. So I settled on drawing Thaddius our Ship Captain that my character and her party rescued from slavery. He basically went through hell with us and nearly died but we fought over who would die in his place. This NPC I would never be able to summarize in a word, for one he married one of our players and had a child with her through the course of the story. And some how he found his way into every player's memories as the awesome guy we could always trust and depend on to get our flag ship where it had to be. He might not have been a noble but the guy certainly was a hero."

Because of Planescape Torment and Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, I kind of have this image that Tieflings are basically humans with variations like small horns, tails, pointed ears and other details which still make them look very human. These newer ones though look more like they are half demons or that a grand parent banged one.

Here's a picture of my tiefling monk! This is from rather early in the campaign, so he's a bit drab.

After over a year of playing he's gotten

Rather OP.

Plot ******** let him become a 7'8" demon/celestial hybrid with a wingspan of nearly twenty feet, and the weapon talks to him.

#105 to #104 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
Most of the weird **** on the character is a result of me being a ******* lunatic.

I went with the mad science aspect of alchemist. I had a lot of ideas.

The idea of a mech-suit made out of hill giant parts was tossed around, as well as several other ideas. Some which worked better than others.

The circuitry looking **** on the hands is a result of me toying around with lightning conductive metals and electric magic

The idea was to channel the energy in a better form to deal more damage. Worked damned well.
#106 to #105 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Well that went from normal to ccuuurraaazy fast.

Did you commission or know a guy?
#107 to #106 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
Both, actually!

The artist is another player in the games we run. And if you think my character is crazy you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet brotha/sista. Pic related, it's his character in the same campaign as the dragon.

We had to come up with a new size category for that hammer when he went to ******* colossal sizes and fused with the 4 armed incredibly strong barbarian. To get a sense of how strong he is, in each of his hands he's carrying a 2 handed weapon. With no penalty.

Pathfinder with a few rules tossed to the wind/new mechanics added so that things can keep being challenging.

Mythic adventures combined with godlike powers. To give you an idea of how utterly INSANE that particular campaign is, I'll give you a screenie of my stats for Minerva. (The dragon)

If you think that's scary, the wizard in the party has a higher INT score than I do
User avatar #111 to #110 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Good lord.
#112 to #111 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
No kidding. And it gets even better.

Each one of the characters has ascended to their personal 'perfection' ideal.

The wizard turned into a ******* aeon.

The barbarian is made of living adamantine.

The rogue is literally made of shadowstuff

The druid (see previous pic of hammer-tiefling) got BIG and snakelike.

And I stopped being insane and instead became a paragon of dragonkind.

Currently we're aiming to kill the current gods of this realm and the BBG and make a realm of our own. We are doing this by collecting shards of divinity and incorporating them into our own being.

Oh and I'm absorbing the essence of different celestial dragons. Fun times.
#113 to #112 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
Oh and because of a previous plot-hook with my character, I attained the perfect shapechange ability and was able to permanently copy 5 or so racial traits from any race I knew.

Aren't godlike campaigns fun?
User avatar #115 to #113 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
**** man that's too nuts for me, I play real lower powerlevels in almost every game and play it as more "realistic" fantasy. Even Psions are way to busted for my group.
#117 to #115 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
I can respect that! Nothing wrong with playing a more 'normal' game. The GMs in my campaigns just find it more fun to have player strength increase logarithmically. Having real 'Limits' on what you can do is sobering at times.

Though I can't say that I don't enjoy playing as an ultra-powerful being and still struggling to beat some of the challenges we come across.
User avatar #118 to #117 - thereisaguy [OP]ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
I'm planning on picking up Exalted eventually, seems like a neat system for a structured "god" game.
#119 to #118 - dwarfboy (01/07/2016) [-]
I'd give you a few tips on running 'Godlike' games but I'm really not qualified to do so.

Just make sure to encourage creativity, even if at some times it seems insane.

The soul powered hill-giant power armor will become a reality soon enough.

Even if I have to make my own.

User avatar #80 to #79 - derpwolf (01/06/2016) [-]
Actually she's a Titan Weapon Fighter. It's an archetype that lets me wield Large-class two-handed weapons as regular two-handed weapons. When I take Lighten Weapon as a feat, I can wield a Large greatsword in one hand and a heavy shield in the other.

If the campaign goes mythic I'll take mythic tower shield proficiency because it removes the attack penalty, making wielding a Large 2H weapon and a tower shield a viable build.

It will be once I can afford it. Right now she's only got scale mail, but she has a cloak, a scarf, and a half-mask to cover up her face, with a hood to go over it all. If anyone sees her metallic gold horns under her hood, she'll just pass them off as part of her mask.

Mine is a sorcerer who's dad is known as the hero of the country. Now he's just a tavern keeper in the town of Elderbäne. People mistake him for his father despite his frail build. User avatar #84 to #83 - derpwolf (01/06/2016) [-]
She's in a strange position because she looks nothing like anyone else in her family, and she never took as well to politics as befitted her station in life. She's got some... connections, with aristocracy. So now she's essentially out in the world to find herself. 6'1 and 200+ lbs of muscle. Huge size mostly comes from being related to a Pit Lord, but she herself is lawful good rather than lawful evil. I'm pretty sure that our game doesn't take place in her home country though, so staying anonymous should be... relatively easier.
