I swear if you are talking about how it takes thousands of years for the light of a star to reach Earth so we could see it I will rage. You do realize a star's "lifespan" reaches into the billions of years right? To a star 1000 years is ******* nothing. Chances are the same star you see on Earth is still (and relatively speaking) approximately the same size and brightness as the image of the star we see. I mean goddammit people.

Still, there's the possibility.

Look, the chance of a star dying in 1000 years is the same chance as an average person dying in 30 minutes. Nothing is certain but even I have confidence that in 30 minutes I'll still be breathing.

It would be better to say it's the same chance as an average person doing of old age in 30 minutes, since you could get hit by a truck or something.

Look determining the average age of a star is much harder than you might think. Some stars live to approximately 10 million, some to well over 100 trillion. All I'm trying to say is that in a thousand years, the vast majority, and I mean like 99% or so, of stars are still up there doing the same damn thing there were doing a thousand years ago.

"some over 100 trillion"
no estimate for the universe is near that old. and you cant assume it will ever be. even if the uninterupted star has the potential for it

I was agreeing with you.

Some stars we see in the sky now already blew up a long time ago, and it'll still be a long time before the light of them exploding reaches us. Many stars look about the same to us as they do in their part of the universe, but others are long dead
