Card Trick For FJ (To Learn)

 

I made this the other day for FJ 'cause I was in a social situation that I did not want to be in, and I thought of you guys! It is a self-working card trick. Let me know if you ever use/do it and how it went, or if you have any tricks of your own for us.

I tried making it a webm, but I seem to be encountering problems, so I just made it an unlisted movie on my channel. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Thats to do with Chrome, latest version 47 removed the feature as in their report they found less than 1% of users used it, there are scripts/extensions that a few people have made that reintroduce the feature, basically it's just google being tards

If they start to do that, immediatly stop them and say, "whoa, whoa, did you go to school for ornithology? I didn't think so, leave the tests to me," or maybe if they mess the trick up say, "Great, now the trick is messed up AND you killed the birds."

Then tell them you have a more magnificent trick where you can actually make a bird appear, cover your hand with a towel, say some magic words, lift up the towel and reveal that you are flipping them the bird.

Nice presentation. I might fool around with making a tutorial video of a "pick a card, pick any card" trick I've been messing around with for years. It involves forcing a card, double lifts, and getting a card into your pocket without someone noticing.

I did when I was younger. I can't act or take directions well, I think. I wouldn't mind being a voice/narrator for some web comic. I don't know why.

You should reach out to the guys making the fallout 4 mod here on Funnyjunk. Can't remember the names of the people, but I did remember them needing voice actors. You should give it a shot I think.

On a side note, as a voice actor, do you have any tips for someone thinking of giving it a shot? I've always been good with sounds etc, so I figured I'd try it out.

Was, not is. My tips would be to do a lot of stuff for free at first. There are tons of voice acting/over forums if you have the time for that. Work on making your recordings crisp, too, either during the recording or in post.

When I was doing it, I was also offering custom music I made, so I could offer a "package" of sorts, and this was back when Flash was becoming a thing and all these web developer companies starting up had ludicrous budgets and I could charge $400 for a 40 second music bed with me narrating. Now that sort of thing is a dime a dozen, or people can go on fiver.com and get something just as good for $10-$25.

It appears to be hard to stand out these days now that recording stuff and music software is more accessible.

Yeah, makes sense. I reached out to some machinima makers, but no cigar. And being a student and all, good quipment is a long ways away. Razer headphones is all I have to work with sadly. Post processing is an option, though.

A simple trick

>get a standard deck of cards
>have a volunteer pick out 2 random cards
>they can't pick a suit of cards (Seven of Diamonds)
>don't let them pick two cards in order (two and three, jack and queen, etc)
>pretend to do something to the cards to make it seem like you are doing something to the cards
>have them tell you their two cards
>tell them you will make their two cards touch each other somewhere in the deck
>start laying the cards in order face up
>statistically there is a high chance that the two cards will be next to each other in the deck
>feel free to church it up with some showmanship

The human mind is a very feeble thing, believe it or not. If you learn how to do card tricks you can actually impress someone because they can't explain what's going on. Impression is what all true warriors strive for.

I'm gonna try this trick, I just really really hope I don't mess it up in front of someone and then concluding that it's best that I just leave and never return to that place ever again.
