I'm pretty sure they have backup batteries, at least on these models. You're going to have to go way back for that to work.

the backup batterys die reitivly quickly on these if you use these in a dark area or like the one I had the solar panel didn't work unless it was pushed to one side bad connecting

weird thing
i have an old casio i biught back in the 90's just been sitting in a box of stuff for over 10 years....hasnt seen light much in that time and batteries havent run out
