It's nothing like it sounds. There's nothing really erotic about it, it's more terrifying than anything that the character has sunk so low.

Sorry, I meant to say that it's easier to get into if you like anime subs already.

Although, I guess if you watch this movie and are fine with the subtitles, it opens up a lot of anime for you to watch.

(And personally, subs are better because the piece was made in that language, but dubs are more approachable and allows them to convey tone/accent properly.)

#342 to #300 - sanjuro (11/22/2013) [-]
Firstly I doubt your sampling methods are completely foolproof. Secondly when discussing taste it seems proper to assume the subject has a reasonable amount of discernment when it comes to that medium, which means more activity and enthusiasm in experiencing works from that medium than the mostly ignorant masses (not that I mean to put them down for lack of film literacy). I'll grant that your basic argument that my statement is factually invalid is correct. However I would put forward that it is reasonable to assume that we (the first commenter and I) are talking about people who have some discernment, otherwise referencing their taste would be pointless. And in those circles Fargo is overwhelmingly popular. Won 2 Oscars. In the imdb top 250 with nearly 300,000 votes. High metacritic score. I rest my case. It seems an easier way to dismantle my point would be to reference the comparatively less popular film Dredd (it's still fairly popular though). I feel like one counterexample does not impact the spiritual validity of my statement.
