Well yeah. Common sense is derived from what is common, and if you're not in the States while being in a developed country, it's not common to have guns pointed at you as far as I know. Asking someone not from America to use American common sense to answer a question about America is just dumb.
Well, that's retarded, because common sense is universal for the most part.
Any person with a bit of brain matter could easily come to the conclusion that it doesn't happen enough to the point where it's "so common." It's obviously not, as the majority of people go throughout their lives not having to deal with guns.
Like seriously, this is not that hard of a concept to grasp.
If you're not from America, any media you see about America is usually gun-related. Personally, from what I've seen and read about the place I might be inclined to believe it's still like the Wild West there if I hadn't done my own research... so yeah, it's not a hard concept to grasp if you seek out information about it yourself, but you can't fault people for thinking it might be common when all they've heard from America is "Guns! Guns! Second Amendment! Mass shooting! Columbine! Guns! Twelve-gauge!"
What he meant to say is yes. As soon as you don't comply they get retarded and try to force you against your will by any means even if all they have is a description. That's why you see a lot of nignogs get shot because they don't comply and make things difficult.
So it's either:
A) Surrender your rights on the spot for the moment
B) Get tackled by more police officers than needed
Thats why I always just let them waste everybody's time when they try to be dicks because atleast I wont end up on the 5 o'clock news.
Not even remotely close. While it can be difficult to assess all the various situations officers find themselves in, pointing a weapon at someone isn't all that common. The people who get shot are actively being aggressive and most are significantly warned that what they are doing will get them shot. There are plenty of bad police out there that don't follow the rules, but they are very much in the minority. Your real options are:
A) Be polite, follow directions, and in the case of the joke panel above, don't hit on the cop who pulled you over.
B) Expect them to treat you as hostile when you get belligerent, be asked to get out of the car, possibly have your car and/or you get searched, and if you prove to actually be hostile in some way, get put down.
There are plenty of incidents where cops go well beyond what they should, but those are always the ones that get shown, because a cop doing their job isn't newsworthy.
If every cop you meet oversteps his or her bounds with you, then you're either really unlucky(you're not) or you're the problem, not them. The occasional douchebag cop is terrible on its own, but its not the norm. Get over yourself.
they should at least show actors how to properly hold a gun. hell, actors should just spend 5 seconds googling it, no wonder he's screaming, thats some dindu grade trigger discipline there.
Do people like you feel good about expressing your superior gun safety knowledge to people on the internet for pinkie pixels? Everyone including you know that the gun in use here is a prop, and trigger discipline doesn't mean **** because it's not real. You seem to assume that everyone will hold a real gun at some point in their life and so they must show they know how to properly handle one at every given opportunity.
Guess what, movies aren't real, and are not always supposed to showcase how to safely handle dangerous objects. This is like telling the actors who are shooting a CGI bike race on a greenscreen with a stationary bike to wear a helmet lest they get hurt. It's just ******* cringy to see these comments on every post featuring anything resembling a gun.
Getting small details right when it comes to making shows/movies is pretty important, actually. Trigger discipline is pretty common knowledge, so plenty of people will notice. You don't want the cops to seem like retards in movies when they aren't supposed to be.
This is a comedy. They couldn't give two ***** about realism. If anything the trigger discipline would take away from the comedic value because it would seem too serious. They probably just handed her a fake gun and told her to go crazy with it.
but there's no reason to be nitpicking the actress. it literally makes no difference to anyone's life how she holds a fake gun in a comedy show that in no way shape or form is meant to be an instructional video on firearm safety
I'm not even into guns but I love it when they show trigger discipline. Or how an assasins shoots twice into the center of mass and then one in the head (don't know how correct that is though)
I agree man. It's not that important, like when I watch movies with snipers - and they take an enemy or target down, and the movie / show doesn't get that pink puff right, it doesn't make it any less of a good movie.
hes right, every detail matters in films. you cant deny the fact that youre just crying over nothing really. what are you accomplishing by bitching about a funny comment. if you wanna cry, go writte a book about it and then go back to your corner of shame. thanks for spewing **** on the community you waste of human resource.
I'm Canadian and have nothing to do with guns and even I see that is stupid. Certain... people, learn to emulate what they see on tv; which does necessitate some awareness to proper usage. Yes it is stupid to those who know better and is promptly dismissed, but people who have never received any safety training will have that image rattling around their head and may assume that to be the way that they should act with a gun; or may even think that could happen when talking to a cop. The former is very dangerous on it's own right, but the latter could cause the person to overreact to a response from a cop; which the cop would then react to and could possibly feel in danger and may attempt to defend him or herself.
It doesn't have to be guns. Anything that needs to be used with caution could be demonstrated in an unsafe way, and people who don't know any better might perform that unsafe action, putting themselves or others into danger.
Back in the recruit period of the military, we spent 5 weeks drilling gun safety before we were let anywhere near any sort of ammunition. Gun safety is serious business, and for anyone who has any experience with guns, you sorta cringe when people do wrong.
"feel good about expressing your superior gun safety"
A little realism in any area you love, greatly improvesd the experience It's why I wasn't a fan of the matrix, didn't hate it but the fights felt terrible
It also bothered me how Gemma Teller on Sons of Anarchy holds her gun. She is supposed to be the mother/wife of gun running bikers, yet she holds the gun in a ridiculous way
The trigger discipline was the second thing I noticed. First was her thumbs overlapping behind the slide.. That aint no six shooter.. That'll ******* hurt when the slide comes back...
A great man named rmoran has said the same thing but about rick from walking dead, because instead of a sheriff with police training, he holds his gun like a wild negro instead
It's because the comic book character holds it in an exaggerated fashion like that, and the actor wanted to emulate that. It's not meant to be proper, it's meant to be a characteristic. It looks silly from a realistic point of view but I like the stylistic choice honestly.
Cops are always like "Yeah, uh, let me see your license."
Um...license for what? What's wrong? Is there something I can assist you gentlemen with?
"You're walking on MY street! And I want your license now."
Does one need a walking license now, sir? I was unaware...
"Don't get smart ******* ! You DRIVER'S LICENSE! I can arrest you for disobeying a lawful order of a peace officer. Give me your license NOW!"
But I am walking...
"OK I'll just ******* bring you in you piece of **** ! Are you going to do what I ORDER you to do?! Or are we going to do this the hard way? I bet I find some drugs on you and you go away for a long ******* time."
I do not have a driver's license, sir. I walk. My disability prevents me from driving. Did I do something wrong?
"How the **** do you not drive? I have never heard of that in my life. What's your disability?"
Um...that is against Federal, State, County, and City law to ask. I decline to declare that to you please.
"OK Mr. Jailhouse lawyer. Write down your name, birth date, address, SSN, mother's maiden name, and phone number. Were are going to run your name, and when warrents show up, your ass is going to jail!"
30 minutes later....
"All right smart guy, you're free to go. But you watch yourself on MY street. And next time you better have a driver's license."
OK?
I look like a Viking. I mean, I am the poster child for what it means to be "white". This has happened DOZENS of times over the years...
It is the reason I currently live in a 3rd world country in SE Asia...
Since I am a normal, European, heterosexual, I have learned I have to play the disabled card.
Ever notice all disabled people are white?
"You said you were going to decapitate him with a spork, **** down his esophagus, disembowel him and play jump rope with his intestines, and chop off his fingers and toes to use as tassels in your.... 'wetbackmobile'. Give us one reason not to arrest you..."
I am disabled. In fact, you should hire me to be your supervisor. If you don't, I will sue you for millions, and you will be shamed on the news.
My brother and I got pulled over by a cop because he'd flicked a cigarette butt out of the window. Made us half an hour I don't have a license and he was trying to run my name through the system so it took a long time. late just to give us a warning. Another time we got pulled over because he didn't have a front plate he didn't have a mount and in my state its legal to simply have it in your car if your car doesn't come with a front mount . Gave him a ticket wrongly, and we fought it and won for the plate and for not having his registration changed less than a week after he moved. Highway police are asses.
