if u remove the cpu cooler to clean it youll need to reapply more thermal compound or you will have major cooling issues. use isipropol alcohol to clean it before applying new compound clean both the chip and the cooler until it shines. i my self will let the cpu heatsink soak in hot water. the tower itself i use a leaf blower. small nooks and cranys use a qtip.

I removed what parts I could, like the fan, the optical drive and the hard drive, then I just wiped around with a tissue, gathered all the dust in one place and wiped it out of the case, then I blew out the remaining dust.
