I think it might be $120 with the zero cropped out.

That would be a price for a reasonable pair of shoes.
#7 to #5 - deog (12/11/2013) [-]
You can find perfectly reasonable shoes (and I mean leather or whatever waterproof material) for 40-60$.
User avatar #10 to #7 - Einsty ONLINE (12/11/2013) [-]
That is true. Though I meant reasonable as opposed to paper.
$120 are better shoes.

I never buy shoes for over $50. They're shoes, they get walked on daily.

Just so long as they look alright and fit alright, I'm good.
User avatar #46 to #29 - iridium (12/12/2013) [-]
I got an 100$ pair of shoes for Christmas last year that I still wear, and they're still in decent shape. The sole isn't worn out and they're still comfortable without any issues or holes. Considering I often have shoes from 40-70$ that last only half that amount of time, I'd say I'm making a net profit.
User avatar #187 to #46 - teoferrazzi (12/12/2013) [-]
of course you are, you got them for free
User avatar #191 to #187 - iridium (12/12/2013) [-]
...I see your point. Regardless, even if I did buy them I am making a net gain overall.

I have had my pair of shoes for two years now. Costed £40 when I bought them, and I use them every day (hah, implying I ever leave the house). Tip top condition, only a bit of discoloration.

On a serious note i am contemplating buying some headphones, and I know that Beats catch a lot of flak from people but are they worth the buy? If not, anyone have suggestions?

I recommend Sennheiser, anything from the HD series. Check out the HD 239s for on-ears, or HD 439 for over-ears. I had the later and they are just too awesome, especially after the driver mod that you can easily do, which using that you can have all the base you ever want and much more.

User avatar #134 to #115 - monkeysniper (12/12/2013) [-]
They are pricey but I know a lot of people that have them and they have nothing to complain about, i can say first hand that the music quality is fantastic, with that said you can still probably find headphones that are the same quality for a lower price (big brands cost big money)
User avatar #137 to #80 - taintedangel (12/12/2013) [-]
My $60 SONY headphones are pretty kick ass.

a beats by dre costs so much cus you're paying an extra $200+ for that damn logo on the side.
User avatar #170 to #137 - mrdrpage (12/12/2013) [-]
It's all about what you're listening to.

Beats by Dre and Soul by Ludacris are manufactured for bass in music while keeping it clear and enjoyable, whereas Sony headphones strive for the absolute clearest sound possible while keeping it affordable and on budget (that's not to say Sony is cheap).

True you're paying a little extra for that logo, but Beats are not completely overpriced when compared to many brands of headphones.

One of the speculations of why poor people buy expensive things is because whenever they get money they spend it. They know that they probably won't have money for very long and they don't want to risk losing it so they spend it on expensive things, like clothes or electronics, etc. because those are a physical, tangible representation of wealth and they want to put off the image of having money. Contrast that with a middle class or rich person style of spending which is to live frugally and save as much as possible. Sociology and **** .

I have money, not a lot but 100% of my income is expendable (being 17 with a job, in college and living with your parents has benefits) and i still buy cheap clothes. My friends don't have jobs and they pay for £50 shirts, £40-50 shoes and so on. How the **** can they afford it? It baffles me to no end. I think the most expensive piece of clothing i bought was about £10? Maybe.

I'm 17 still in highschool and on my second job. I make decent money ( I've saved 1,400) whole still being able to spend money how I want. My friends always never have money and always ask their parents for money, then they go to H&M and spend $60 n a plain gray sweater. At least if I buy something a bit pricey, it's because I worked for it and have outweighed my pro's and con's. They complain about me having so much money but they aren't even LOOKING for work.
