ok so little 12 year old jimmy gets his mom to buy the game, and steals her credit card to buy a 100 loot crates, which will drop 2 good items at best for each class in the game, the rest most likely be trash, then proceeds to equip them and join a game, where he spins around for 15 minutes, because he doesn't even know what the **** is going on. meanwhile timmy gets the game, grinds the characters, has fun in achieving his goals by getting the build he wants and snipes jimmy from across the map, who still doesn't know dick about the game, even though he has all the good **** already. meanwhile they are both playing in a 20v20 or even higher player count game, where individual gear and skill means almost next to nothing, because whichever team has the majority of skilled people will win. yes it could give an advantage when two players go head to head with each other, but some newbie wont win the game just cuz he unlocked all the gear already...

yeah that sucks but I'd rather have the loot crate system with the free content. That way it won't split the player base like the first one and all the battlefields. And also whats so bad about the crate system?

Or you could just not buy the game and go play literally anything else since buying it is only going to tell ea that pay to win tactics in full priced games is okay causing them too keep doing it making this industry's big budget games worse and worse until we finally get to a point where " dungeon keeper mobile" is just the standard model for games you actually buy, ya know just a thought.

In the end though EA and other big companies will always try to find a way to make more money. At first it was DLC but people started getting pissed about that. Now their making all the extra content free so they are going to try micro transactions until that doesn't work. Then someone will find some other stupid gimmick to get extra money for a fully priced game. I was just saying i would rather have the free content and be able to ignore the micro transactions like I always do.

Of course he could it's his money and he can do what he wants with his money, I also have the right to tell him that buying that game hurts the industry as a whole, and I have the right to explain why that is too, he has the right to ignore me or consider my point of view or tell me off, ultimately it's his decision.

The new one is really fun so far, feels a lot closer to the original battlefront 2 honestly. Free beta till Wednesday. It seems like they brought a lot of what the fans wanted, but it stil has the **** loot crate system. I have high hopes but its ea and Im sure theyll find a way to **** it

yes please let me play something I played on my ps2 almost over a decade ago with **** tier gameplay compared to these days and a game most people already played and put 100's of hours into. If you actually enjoy old bf2 over new b2 then you just hate games, you have on nostalgia glasses, or your bandwagoning.

I disagree i've only just recently bought it and played it on steam, and my only complaint was that the enemy AI singles you out like yous an 8 foot tall clown wearing drag. ****** annoying man especially on open maps. otherwise its still ******* awesome better then any COD game i've ever played and GTA 4 , and 5 IMO .

It aged very well as it was a simple 3rd person shooter. It's smooth and fun. People still play it because of that very reason.

Or we just really like the old game better. I don't let nostalgia blind me. I love the old game and played it a lot and still do. I played it extensively before the first EA battlefron was even announced so I'm not on a "bandwagon". Morgan Freeman forbid that people like one of the most popular games of that generation.

Why are you so against anyone actually liking the game?

because it's a **** game these days. Played it and it's terrible. Emulation exists for a reason and its to remember how bad they were. If you call that 3rd person gameplay smooth boy you should try many of the 3rd person games today.

So every old game is bad now? This is news to me. I still have my copy of Battlefront 2 for the Xbox and have a Steam copy. I play the **** out of it because it's so fun. I don't even know the total amount of time spent on the original xbox version as I often didn't save the play data, but I likely had hundreds of hours on it. It was just so much fun. Are you really going to say that every person who likes playing it is "blinded by nostalgia", "hates games", or "bandwagoning"? You really have no way of knowing this and yet you make that claim about every single person who likes it. If you're going to make that claim about everyone who likes it, then I'm just going to make the claim that you hate games because you don't like it.

I have played a lot of 3rd person games. Newer ones and older ones. BF2 is still smooth. The controls are simple and efficient. They aren't bad controls and it's got smooth gameplay. The only "clunky" parts are when you're driving a walker vehicle, but the vehicles are supposed to be like that so they aren't overpowered.

Yes I am the game is old and plays terribly. Flat textures, rigid 3rd person combat and sounds that may as well be coming out of an old CRT TV.

You got a lot to say on emulation, but yes most old games are just good ol faint memories of how bad old games used to be. Sure there are ones that aged well but that's about 1% of the whole library.

Then your flat out lying. The 3rd person play feels like your playing soccer with an octagon. The turning feels overall rigid, the maps have little to no depth to them and the machine combat is down right crap.
