I live in Florida, I can confirm this. The first snowflake fell right after my high school let out. I knew things were about to go down so I got in my car and drove away as fast as i could and didn't let anything slow me down. Thank god I got home fast enough, I heard on the news later that night that some maniacs were driving so fast they were hitting pedestrians and were never found.

protip:
I'm from Russia, I understand your point, and I currently live in a desert. Last time we had 1-inch of snow there was no school because the buses literally could not drive because they froze over.

If you expect snow, the government is obligated to treat the roads and you absolutely must have anti-freeze and proper tires. When you expect it to still be only about 0 degrees outside in the winter, and even 1-2 inches of snow falls, its still catastrophic.

A lot of people in the North actually enjoy the heat - it's a nice change to the constant cold. However, everyone has their own preferences. I keep the temperature inside my apartment between 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit all year round, even when it's below zero outside.

Also, that pic doesn't represent the weather in Texas at all.

User avatar #97 to #30 - commontroll (01/30/2014) [-]
That's because heat doesn't make driving dangerous. The people of the south are morons when it comes to driving on ice.
User avatar #321 to #97 - incoming (01/31/2014) [-]
Not to mention we don't really have snow plows or salt to clear the roads. If you're lucky here you might have tire chains to help you gain some traction, otherwise our tires don't do **** for cold weather driving.
