I work with autistic children.. so much fun.

One kid almost knows every train departure/arrival time in the whole of Denmark - not a very big country, but still pretty impressive.

This makes me happy for some reason. Can't put my finger on why exactly.

I was intrigued so I went and checked. This is 61 minutes into When Harry met Sally.

Seems like a lot of you can't differentiate Aspergers from Autism, although they are connected in a few ways.

People with Aspergers usually perform better in school, but are VERY anti-social. So much to the point where simple things like job interviews are unthinkably nerve-racking. Teens with Aspergers commonly justify their social anxiety by blaming others to be degenerative or stupid, claiming themselves to be more intelligent and therefore do not need social interaction. Teens with Aspbergers also have OCD-like tendencies, but of course don't have full blown OCD. I only know of one case where a student ate tissues or his hair when he was anxious. They usually disregard social norms or are unaware of them, which is why people like this are outcasted in schools. In blunt terms, it's a social retardation. This is what the kid has in the comic.
Also, if you see somebody comment something like "I have autism and can function just fine...", this would be somebody with Aspergers.

I don't know all that much about full-blown Autism, but it relates and differs to Aspergers in a number of ways. People with Autism are very slow to pick up on social ques, like when somebody doesn't want to be touched or hugged. They don't understand personal space until much later in their development. It's also very difficult for them to retain and understand ideas. Teens with Autism are more out-going in most situations, simply because they don't know any better when they go too far. This, unfortunately, is why there are numerous cases of adults with autism raping close friends (typically of the opposite sex).

Now hear me out. I'm not saying that everyone who's anti-social has Aspergers. I'm an introvert myself. I'm just listing how somebody with Aspergers may act. And I'm pretty certain I spelled Aspergers wrong this entire time...

My sister has autism. She knows what day any date will occur on. So if you're curious what day of the week your birthday will be on in 10 years (or what day it was on 10 years ago), she could tell you within a few seconds.

I don't know why people think autism is so ******* awful that they refuse to vaccinate their children in fear of them getting it (which is ******** anyways)
