Illegal immigration is a crime. They were prosecuted as it happened.
User avatar #93 to #92 - Shiny ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Yes, and they were also "prosecuted" for things OP assumed would happen. Eventually they'd stop trying to enter.
User avatar #94 to #93 - elvoz (01/07/2016) [-]
What else were they prosecuted for? The crime was illegal immigration, the verdict was "caught red-handed", the punishment was "your ass is going somewhere nasty". They weren't punished under the idea that they might try again, that was simply a consideration for laying out their current punishment. That would be like saying putting a murderer on parole is punishing them on the assumption they will kill again.
User avatar #95 to #94 - Shiny ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
But OP actually said in that post that is why he did it...

Grown ass adults, or at least teenagers. Old enough to apply for a green card or gotten a passport. This isn't a police state, people can travel here from anywhere in the world as long as they have a passport. They did this to themselves. Don't tell the guy from Homeland security where your from, don't tell the guards where your from, well then perhaps Cambodia is their original home country. Maybe maybe not, if it wasn't then they should have said otherwise.

Girl Knows Her Rights Police She Tells Off Border Patrol Police Officer No. Those cunts deserved it. Watch the whole video I posted and re-think your comment.

I couldn't find the video that compiled ~20 vids like this where people got acted like smartasses just because they read few laws they do not understand.

Now imagine that there are thousands of those. (note that the vids are made by retards because border patrol/police always work in pairs in case of need of a witness)

The border patrol are people like you and me. They do they just want to do their job and if there is a big fat queue behind the border because some hippies think they are the smartest things on the planet

The law is simple , if you dont have a VALID reason to detain a person then you as a police officer CANNOT detain a person based on 0 evidence.
people are allowed to get on with thier lives, if there was actual authority behind the actions of the border patrol then these videos would not exist.

I'm all for the police doing there job and people respecting that but these check on random citizens are illegal, you have the right to ******* not get pulled over for doing nothing wrong and not having the police/ border patrol waste your ******* day

#40 to #19 - failtotheepicpower (01/07/2016) [-]
Look everyone! It's Captain Unrealistic World View!

there are quotas, meaning not everyone can get in. Also, many of the people who we need in the US are the day laborers (farmers, etc) who wouldn't get in through immigration, as we look for white collar professionals (doctors, etc). They don't have the resources to even apply, many times. You cannot fault them for coming to another country to work so that they can send money to their family and make a better life for themselves. Do you somehow have a right to a better life because you were born in a different place than them?

User avatar #55 to #52 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
They were obviously in the wrong, but they were hardly being rude or assholes or any other thing that merits the border patrol guy being a complete asshole himeself, so much so as going beyond a reasonable punishment.
#59 to #55 - peterdivine (01/07/2016) [-]
Oh, sure they weren't. I bet they were docile as kittens and twice as cooperative. You know what they sounded like in OP's post?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCozh_vbYdM

You don't send someone to Cambodia on a lark, man, you do it because they are- and I'm quoting the OP here- "screaming some ******** clause about they have the right to travel between countries freely because they're not tied to some quasi NAFTA conspiracy of the North American union." The second they got asked for papers, getting into the U.S. WITHOUT border patrol interference was already a non-possibility, so their only options were doing so with border approval. All they had to do was explain that they had no papers, and volunteer their information from there. They didn't. They fought and belittled the system as much as they possibly could, and their contempt was met in kind.
#97 to #59 - grimsho (01/07/2016) [-]
I'm only on the first clip in that video and ****** hilarious.

User avatar #64 to #59 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
you are only listening to ops point of view here in determining how they behaved, take into consideration what OP himself said..

>wetbacks
>beaners
>stare at them in disbelief and outright anger
>team laughs (after choosing cambodia)

Couple this, with the fact that he knowingly sent them to the wrong country....you would think that OP would have bias in the way he explained how they behaved.
#71 to #64 - peterdivine (01/07/2016) [-]
Well, naturally OP's got a bias. It's his story, and the people who have the other viewpoint on it are in no position to deliver one... geographically speaking. We make assumptions on the facts given to us. You want a perfect understanding of the setting before you render a judgment, you're going to be sitting, waiting, and listening for a while.

For that matter, what makes you think OP overreacted? Maybe he's underplaying what sort of frothing "sovereign citizen" insanity these people put him through.
User avatar #74 to #71 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
obviously OP's have natural bias...but his bias is incredibly obvious, i mean...lets be honest here.

why would he underplay it when he even admitted to him being angered by them? you dont go through all that, meanwhile put them into an underplayed position...yea they were being in the wrong, but for OP to underplay them and overplay himself would not make sense....if you tried this in court, you would do the opposite (overplay them).

Like i said, i can agree with someone enforcing the law...

but sending them to cambodia is excessive and an abuse of power since the borderpatrolmen knew where they came from.
User avatar #62 to #61 - euskippy ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Shrug. They don't exist. They have no legal documents. Plus, Cambodia is likely to deny them and ship them off elsewhere again anyway so who the **** cares
User avatar #66 to #62 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
they have documentation in mexico, therefore should have been sent there...he knowingly knew where they came from, yet sent them to the wrong country completely knowing where they came from.

its excessive and abuse of power.
User avatar #68 to #66 - euskippy ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Do they? Because the original post says nothing about that. The fact that they're "from Mexico" is gleaned by the Officer questioning them but that doesn't mean they actually have any documentation there.

In fact. It clearly says Homeland Security interviews and cannot find a single bit of info on them. And straight up tells the guys to "pick a country" which they promptly do.

I'd agree it was an abuse of power if these guys had some kind of documentation anywhere, but they're literally ghosts in the system.
User avatar #69 to #68 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
it literally says in the opening statement that they were originally from mexico and brought over to the united states from a young age. This means that there is mexican documentation that they were born in that country.

They picked a country and laughed about it later, laughing about already implies they are ******** all over the situation.

they are ghosts in the united states, but highly doubt they were ghosts in their homecountry.
User avatar #70 to #69 - euskippy ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
This post was also written after the fact. Meaning that if they said they were from Mexico, the guy can believe them and write that. And he gave a valid reason as to why he DIDN'T send them back to Mexico.
User avatar #72 to #70 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
It was written after the fact, but lets used sterotypes for a second...its highly possible we could pretty much pick out a mexican from a lineup a single mexican and cambodians. choosing cambodia was simply a dick move.

and it was not a valid reason...for the same fact that when you deport an immigrant you dont simply throw them into china when they are from honduras for example.
User avatar #73 to #72 - euskippy ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
You can when they don't have any paperwork to back up their "Claim of COuntry of Origin." IF they had paperwork in Mexico, they'd have been sent to Mexico. Because that's the law.

They didn't have any paperwork to prove where they were from so they were sent off to wherever.
User avatar #75 to #73 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
being sent to "wherever" before finding a country of origin doesnt make sense. but even then, it also makes me doubt the story even happened. A person would first be detained for a while before being deported...so its highly unlikely they were not able to identify the country of origin in the meantime.

>Know there's very little chance someone is from Cambodia
>Send them there anyway because **** it my life is comfortable and nobody is going to know.

Are these retarded people for trying to enter a country without a passport? Absolutely. But come on, at least send them back where they came from instead of screwing their lives over.
User avatar #46 to #36 - roninneko ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
But they can't determine "where they came from", and they can't just shuffle illegal aliens back the way they came when you don't know their country of origin. You can't pull the NIMBY principle, especially with Mexico. Can't let them go, can't keep them, so you gotta put them somewhere and hope they make it on their own.
#47 to #46 - installation (01/07/2016) [-]
The Missile Knows Where It Is...

You can though, or at least the anon was able to since they said that they'd just come back if they sent them to Mexico.

But alright, let's use our brains. You can't determine the country of their origin, but you can determine countries they're not from. These immigrants aren't going to illegally immigrate to Mexico, just to try to go through border patrol and hope Americans are nice enough to let them in. If they were from Cambodia, they'd just go straight to America.

Plus this **** isn't free. It costs money to ship someone to another continent. They are incompetent.
User avatar #48 to #47 - roninneko ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
But they WERE trying to illegally enter the U.S. Without papers. Which means if they turned around and tried to reenter Mexico, they'd be illegally entering Mexico. Without papers.

The issue here is not the direction from which they came. The issue is the lack of papers, or identification of any kind. On paper, they didn't exist. No birth certificates, drivers licenses, health insurance, credit cards, nothing.

And they already KNOW they're not from Cambodia. They're bureaucrats, not morons. They had to deport them - they couldn't keep them - so they picked a country that would minimize the probability that they'd ever show up at a U.S. border ever again. End of story. Deal with it once, and never worry about it again.
User avatar #51 to #48 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
it litterally says that they were born in mexico, therefore there is identification for them being born in mexico.
User avatar #53 to #51 - Kannas (01/07/2016) [-]
No, it says that there was no information on them, and they had to get someone from Homeland Security to question them to get their life story. If you don't cooperate with authority, authority is not going to cooperate with you.
User avatar #54 to #53 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
uhhh...you do realize the he meant through the united states right? Of course a united states government worker isnt going to have access on another countries documentation (such as birth certificates). it states " they were originally from mexico, but brought to the united states at a young age".
User avatar #56 to #54 - Kannas (01/07/2016) [-]
Yes, he meant the Homeland Security guy had to pry that out of them after they refused to comment twice already. It doesn't change what I'm saying.
User avatar #57 to #56 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
it does actually....it means that they knew where they were coming from, yet sent them to a different country than that of which they came from. This is obviously an abuse, and misuse of power.
User avatar #60 to #57 - Kannas (01/07/2016) [-]
>But they still have no paperwork. Nothing whatsoever not even finger prints or dental records.

It's entirely possible that people living so under the radar that they have no papers, despite living in the country for many years, don't have birth certificates in their country of origin. If their place of origin cannot be determined, border patrol will send them somewhere they will not cause issue again. Word of mouth with no physical proof combined with the fact that they were uncooperative means they're going wherever the big bad border patrol officer feels like sending them.

If you're going to break the law, don't flaunt it in front of the people who can punish you for it.
User avatar #67 to #60 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
My dad was a poor farmer from a different country, in a small town that just 10 years ago had only one "town telephone". and the government had documentation of his birth.

I highly doubt hipsters driving a fiat would be so under the radar in their homecountry that they have no documentation. OP litterally said himself he knew they came from mexico, yet shipped him eslewhere.

like i said, i can reason with enforcing the law...but this is an obvious abuse and misuse of power.
User avatar #77 to #67 - Vegeto (01/07/2016) [-]
"OP litterally said himself he knew they came from mexico"

Yes, as in they were coming from the direction of Mexico, not that their country of origin is Mexico. There's a very distinct difference.

As was said earlier, they were trying to illegally enter the U.S. Without papers. Which means if they turned around and tried to reenter Mexico, they'd be illegally entering Mexico. Without papers.
User avatar #79 to #77 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
no. read it again,it says they were originally brought from mexico when they were kids. its in the black text at the top.

they have papers from mexico, it says they were originally from there in the same quote im referencing to.
User avatar #80 to #79 - Vegeto (01/07/2016) [-]
If they have papers from Mexico, then they have a known Country of Origin that would have been found by Homeland Security or told by the immigrants themselves.

That means the second half of the story couldn't have happened, because by law they would have to be sent to Mexico, not file paperwork to send them somewhere that is different from their Country of Origin.
User avatar #81 to #80 - donatelo (01/07/2016) [-]
That's why i started to doubt the story all together.

What happens if you deport them to a nice place, the kind of place people would sneak into? Like say i pull this **** with Germany and they deport me to America, am i now a US citizen? How else might one abuse this power for personal gain?

I imagine the receiving country still has to accept them. If not they get shipped off elsewhere.

**** this though. I've heard more white "Libertarians" spout nonsense about "I'm a free inhabitant of the earth!" "I'm not a state citizen!" than anyone else. This being the first time I've heard of anyone else doing it, and this almost definitely didn't happen.

Oh, so the videos I've seen of white dudes getting all uppity in routine traffic stops to the point where the police have to smash in their windows and drag them out of the car were figments of my imagination? In fact, one of them was a truck driver being pulled over because he was crossing the border and failed to stop at a weigh station, so they had to stop him and check for people in the back. Oh wait, I forgot, that didn't happen because the great leutenantderp said it didn't.

Cambodia is actually quite a nice place, well some parts of it is, the capital Phnom Penh is not one of those parts.
I felt a bit home sick when I got to Siem Reap and felt like some Western food and asked for cheese on toast for breakfast, what I received was, unique.
I appreciate the inclusion of other foods that are not traditional to the country on the menu, something that reoccurred most countries I visited, but this was something I did not expect.

Meanwhile in Germany if you don't have paperwork you can't get deported because they can't determine the place of origin or whatever.
That's why many immigrants/refugees destroy their passports.
That way they become less likely to get a proper residence permit [?] but can't get deported either.
