Thought I'd upload this here for anyone who's interested. If you remotetly like Pokemon, I think you should give this game a shot. It plays with the formular in a refreshing way, although it admittedly has its shortcomings. Very good game so far imo.

Just so people know, I didn't make this game. I don't have the means to do something as awesome as this. The developer is called th3shark and can be found on reddit. If anyone is interested, hit him up here: www.reddit.com/r/PokemonEvoas/

There was another 'new fanmade' pokemon game being made, I don't recall the name but I remember it being posted on here. Something about it seemed interested although it was sort of just another ROM hack, I think it was called Pokémon legend s or something

>5 moves
>status ailments stack
Oh goodie, the last thing we need in "enhanced" strategy is Serene grace stacking upon bad poison and paralysis.
Also, Brink Mode boosted U-Turn/Volt Switch. Forretress OP with Explosion.
5-move RestTalk combos...
It seems like there's a lot of oversights that would make the game broken, but maybe I just need to play it.

I'm not going to say the game is balanced, because I haven't played it long enough to assertain wether it is or not. But this game is fundamentally much different than the basic Pokemon games in many ways, so the dynamics are equally different. Firstly, he took out a lot of attacks and replaced them with his own. Flinching moves might not even be in the game, and there's moves like fly which basically just makes you "airbourne" so grounded attacks don't hit you. Secondly abilites can be changed out depending on the Pokemon and there might not even be a Serene Grace. Also, battles are 2 on 2, which just further makes things different. It's pretty interesting to see wether his attacks will be balanced in-game in the long run, but if it isn't it isn't too much of a big deal because it's (for now) meant to be a single player game.

Yeah, I read the whole 2-on-2 thing. That just leaves more room for exploitation. Stacking any two moves that do different status ailments is still exploitable greatly. Not to mention the whole second chance thing really gives way to a large portion of strategy being used to exploit the Brink Mode, like spending the battle boosting defenses, gain the chance through Brink Mode, and then tank the rest of the opponent's hits due to your boosted stats (if this game has recovery moves, heaven help us...).

Ah well, you might be right. I'd guess that if that's the case, the game developer could always change things up. For now though I haven't had too many problems with it. I've mostly with the difference in exp gain from trainers to wild pokemons early on, especially if you decide to wait on catching pokemon.

What a load of fake concept art, bull... ****... it's real.

also I recognize that particular Meloetta silhouette. Now i'm ruined for the story the "infected trainers" makes a whole lot more sense now

Lol, I anticipated the exact same thing at first. The game isn't absolutely fantastic mind you, but it is really nice and a good departure from the normal Pokemon formular that plaque the main games.

Idea: Do you know how you can only use a move so many times in the game? Well instead of that, why don't you make it so each move has a cooldown.

Ex: Hydro pump has 6 uses I think . Instead, once you use it, you need to wait Insert number turns to use it again. Stronger moves have longer cooldowns.

Oh. and maybe the countdowns would be set high enough so that if you want to keep attacking every turn then you would have to use week moves as well.

And add a wait option.

I thought so too. But I believe they evolve to Beedrill in this game instead, which I'm not too keen on but is a good solution considering.

Thanks, but I didn't make this game. I just wanted to share it. The real developer is called th3shark and is on reddit, so if you feel inclined to tell him your thoughts you can do it in his Pokemon Evoas reddit page.
