There's even a longer example of wordplay with the word "had."

A teacher gave an assignment for the students to write a sentence about a man who suffered from a cold in the past.
James wrote, "The man had a cold," which was incorrect.
John wrote, "The man had had a cold," which was correct.
Therefore...
John, where James had had "had," had had "had had;" "had had" had had a better effect on the teacher.

Wait so is there an answer to this poem? Is it a riddle? Or is it just supposed to be like, "So this happened, isn't it weird?"

It's not supposed to be viewed as a story with a moral, but rather a play on words.

Except this doesn't work at all because there are rules dictating when they can be used in such a manner.

"GH" is only pronounced as "F" at the end of a word.
"TI" only makes the "SH" sound when followed by a vowel.

I can't figure if there's any problem with the way o is being used, so I'll let that one slide.
