i did the same thing
only truly spoopy part of dead space 3 was when i saw that bigass spider the first time. i was walking along and was all like "lalala its s great day" and all of a sudden this ****************** jumps in my face and is all like REEEEE HUMANFAGS LEEEAVE and im like **** bitch
and when i played dead space 2 i was no longer scared of anything. i suppose the game was nice but i was too busy killing **** that i forgot to get scared you feel
"oh hey, harpoons! i was running out of amm-"
*vent crashes and a ****** jumps out*
"not this **** again"
I felt like the games getting less scary as they went on sorta worked. Well, it worked in Dead Space 2 because Isaac had already gone through all this **** , and to me the parts that spooked me the most were the tripping-balls hallucination bits. The actual monster fighting didn't frighten me nearly as much as it did in Dead Space 1.
Dead Space 3 sucked to me though. If you have microtransactions in your single player game, you have failed at making a game.
The actual gameplay was solid through all three, but I feel it kinda went flat in Dead Space 3. I heard the co-op was fun, but none of my friends got the game.
Power to you, then. Enjoy it
Just because I didn't, doesn't mean no-one else can. I felt there were no parts in Dead Space 3 that were legitimately scary. It was all just "Aboogiewoogiewoo!"
oh yeah definitely **** that ****
thats one of the things that really hardened me for dead space 2
i didnt play much coop (i was busy playing classic mode and **** . yes, im a badass) but i specifically remember playing with some other dude, and we were going down this elevator and the elevator was made out of screaming faces, so i continued to kill the ************ until i made it back up the elevator where the other dude told me i was just standing still for 45 minutes.
and i was like
ok
i put the disc in my PS3 and then it started up. while it was loading i was thinking of how low i had fallen, that i had become such a console peasant.
huh...sorry the paid version didnt work for you. did you try messing with the graphics driver settings? AMDs antialiacing messes with dead space 3. it did with mine. See if changing something there could fix it.
This game showed me it isn't the character that makes the cringe, it is the writing.
One can have an orphan that wears all black to match his long black hair discover he inherited powers related to darkness that manifests itself as two evil snake tentacles sticking out his back, just don't be an inept monkey with a typewriter.
Yep, it's from a description of an artifact you can find that just earns you some points and reveals some lore for you about the Darkness. Honestly learning about the history of the Darkness was one of my favorite parts of the game.
Ok cool! One of my favorite things to do in games as well is learn about the lore so I'll make sure to look for those when I get it. I'll probably play the original one first though.
Oh yeah, definitely do that. The original kinda didn't give a **** about anything that happened before your turn to host, but honestly it feels like a better game then TD2. The voices fit the characters better, I felt more invested in the story, less arcady, darker. Maybe that's just me though. Anyway, hope you enjoy both games, easily some of my favorites.
I've only played the Darkness II, but not for lack of searching for the original Darkness.
the characters were great, even if I had missed out on all the special attachments that the first game would have fostered. the story was 'meh' but the Lore more than made up for it. there weren't any stand-out moments until the plot twist right at the end. none of the playfully innocent moments like "no way, his eyes are too close together", which is something I personally live for.
one thing it was, though, was fun to play, and it was SUPER fun to play. the gameplay's simple but very enjoyable. just sit back, switch off your brain and start shooting.
